Beautiful, rare, coveted and very precious vintage poster from Australia by James Northfield. The poster shows a king parrot, an eastern rosella, Major Mitchell cockatoos and a sulfur lobster cockatoo. This is a very rare - and in our eyes nicer - variant of Northfield's famous poster. It differs from the standard version in its color, style and background details.

One of ANTA's first acts were to order a series of colorful advertising posters from Northfield, Trompf and Sellheim, which promoted the magnificent country to an international as well as national audience. The posters were primarily used in countries in the British Empire and the United States.

We last saw this poster for sale in 2009 but we have never seen a copy of this poster or the more widespread version with a booth like this poster. The poster looks almost perfect, except for a few scratches in the left corner and a little patina.

Frame is not included in the price. See our large selection of exclusive frames that can be made precisely to the poster.
