World War I American war poster calling on people to buy US government bonds. The Third Liberty Loan was a liberty bond sold during World War I that helped cover US war expenses. In effect, the bonds were a loan from citizens to the U.S. government, which would be repaid with interest in the future. At least if the United States helped win the war, which they did in November 1918, the same year this poster was published.
