Bring nature into your home

Natural wood – solid oak or veneer

The grain and shades of the wood make every frame unique. Choose solid, untreated oak if you want a frame made from oak throughout, with a natural grain full of unexpected variations.

For a more uniform appearance, we offer several profiles with oak veneer, where a thin layer of real oak gives the surface its natural character. Solid oak is available in different moulding widths, allowing you to choose a subtle or more prominent look.

If you prefer a deeper wood tone, our smoked oak comes in two versions: smoked oak and dark smoked oak. Both feature beautiful smoked oak veneer wrapped all the way around the frame moulding. The warm wood tones complement photographs, graphic designs and original vintage posters alike.

Matte or glossy

Colored wooden frames

A colored wooden frame can pick up tones from the artwork or create harmony or contrast that brings the picture to life.

Our matte frames have a 15 mm wide front, a depth of 13 mm and an understated look, while the glossy frames, with a profile measuring 13 mm in both width and depth, add shine and reflect the light.

Choose a color that appears in the artwork for a harmonious result, or try a different shade to highlight particular details. Colored frames work equally well as a single focal point or as part of a gallery wall.

With a colored passepartout (also called a mount or mat), you can explore the interplay of colors further and create a personal composition that brings the artwork, frame and surroundings together.

Classic wooden frames

Black and white

Black and white wooden frames are versatile choices for everything from family photographs to art posters. Black defines the edges of the artwork and adds contrast, while white creates a lighter transition to the wall.

The width and depth of the frame moulding also influence the overall look. You can choose between profiles measuring 10×10, 13×13, 15×15, 20×20 and 20×30 mm, with the first measurement indicating the front width and the second the moulding depth. Slim mouldings create a subtle frame, while larger profiles add visual weight.

For particularly large frames, the 20×30 mm profile is an ideal choice. The available frame sizes depend on the individual profile.

From vintage details to simple lines

Gold and silver

Our gold and silver wooden frames range from detailed vintage-style frames to simple profiles with a more understated look.

An ornate frame can enhance the atmosphere of an old poster or create an interesting contrast with a modern photograph.

The simpler frames offer a more subtle setting, while the lustre of the finish still adds character.

Gold often brings out warm colours such as red, brown and ochre, while silver works beautifully with cooler shades and black-and-white images.

Let both the colours of the picture and the look you want guide your choice – a simple image can easily carry a highly detailed frame.

Acrylic and real glass

Choose the right glass

The glass affects both the appearance of your framed artwork and its everyday handling.

For our wooden frames, you can choose between acrylic glass, standard glass, non-reflective glass and museum glass.

Acrylic glass is lighter and does not shatter like standard glass, making it ideal for large formats.

Standard glass provides a clear view of the picture but may reflect its surroundings.

Non-reflective glass reduces glare with a matt surface, which can also make the image appear slightly softer.

Museum glass is the ultimate choice, combining exceptional clarity with minimal reflections and at least 70% UV protection.

When choosing glass, consider the location, lighting and artwork in particular.

1.5 mm acid-free board

With or without a passepartout

A passepartout (also called a mount or mat) gives the artwork breathing space and lets you experiment with the proportions of the framing.

Choose a subtle shade, or use colour to highlight details in the picture. Our passepartouts are made from 1.5 mm acid-free board and can be ordered with one or more openings, positioned wherever you choose.

White and off-white are available in sizes up to 120×160 cm, while the other colours are available up to 81×110 cm.

The frame must be larger than the artwork to allow room for a passepartout.

As a general rule, choose an opening that is 1 cm smaller than the artwork in both width and height. You can also order a passepartout without an opening if you would like to place your artwork on top. This is particularly suitable for our box frames with 14 mm spacers.

In the frame designer, you can also choose reveal - a visible border around your artwork. This uses an additional passepartout without an opening, which remains visible between your artwork and the main passepartout.
