Get help choosing the right passepartout
A passepartou (also called mount, mat or matte) can make an enormous difference to the overall appearance of an artwork. It creates space around the piece, highlights the motif and can give the framing a more exclusive and refined look.
We offer more than 20 different mount colours, as well as both single and double mounts. Some artworks look best with a very simple and narrow mount, while others gain far more depth and character from wider borders or combinations of multiple colours.

Frame profiles and glass types
At PlakatKunst, we work with a large selection of high-quality picture frames, which we produce ourselves in our Danish frame workshop to order. You can choose from more than 50 different frame profiles – from very slim and discreet frames to deeper and more distinctive profiles in wood or aluminium.
We also offer several different glazing options, including acrylic glass, regular glass, non-reflective glass and museum glass.
If you would like additional depth in the framing, we also offer box frames with integrated 14 mm spacers, creating space between the artwork and the glass.
There are many possibilities, but it does not have to feel overwhelming. On the contrary, it can be a genuinely exciting process when you begin to see all the options unfold.
Upload a photo of your artwork
When you contact us through the live chat, you have the option to upload a photo of the artwork you would like framed. This makes it much easier for us to give you specific and relevant advice.
The photo does not need to be perfect or fully cropped. Simply take it from above as accurately as possible, and we can easily place it into our visualisation system.
Once we have a photo of your artwork, we can visualise different framing options so you get a realistic impression of how the piece will look with different frames, mounts and proportions. This often provides a completely different level of confidence before placing an order.

Be completely certain before ordering
We offer a 30-day return policy on standard items. Products made to custom dimensions – including custom-made frames and mounts – are, however, excluded from returns, as they are produced specifically for you and cannot be reused by others.
