Folies Bergère / Loïe Fuller
Made in Denmark
High quality reprint of a historic poster from 1893 by the French lithographer, printmaker and painter Jules Chéret. He was a pioneer in the advertising concept and poster art. This poster is one of four posters he designed for the Folies Bergère revue theater and one of their star performers, the dancer Loïe Fuller.
Loïe Fuller became an instant success when she started performing on the stages of Parisian Dance Halls in 1892. Her act was called the Snake Dance and effectively used multi-colored lights that were reflected from the diaphanous veils in which she elegantly danced.
Printed with 12 colors on 240 gram matte premium paper.
