Glass
For all our wooden frames, you can choose between four different types of quality glass: Acrylic glass (plexiglas - light and shatter-free) or one of the three different types of real glass: normal glass, non-reflective glass or museum glass, which optimally protects against UV radiation, and therefore clear recommended if you want to take good care of your poster's colors. Please note that the acrylic glass is supplied with protective film on both sides. When this is removed, our acrylic glass appears as clear as normal glass. The dimensions of the frame are always the dimensions of the glass.
Passepartout / Mat / Passepartotu
Have you considered whether you should have a passepartout for the frame? Passepartout is a piece of 1.5 mm acid-free cardboard, which is placed between the glass and the poster, without casting a shadow on the poster. When you choose a cutout in your mount, you must subtract 1 cm from both height and width, so that there is room (0.5 cm all around) to mount the image on the back of the mount. If you have, for example, a 34x56 cm poster, you must choose 33x55 as the cutout. The outer trim naturally matches the glass in the frame.
