About the frame

This matte grey wooden frame is a modern alternative to classic wood colours and gives a calm, subdued and contemporary overall look. The grey finish completely covers the wood structure and creates a uniform, elegant surface on the slim 15 mm profile. The result is a minimalist frame that highlights the motif without adding warmth or visual distraction.

The frame can be manufactured to the exact dimensions you need — down to the millimetre — and can be hung both horizontally and vertically. The matte grey colour makes the frame particularly suitable for graphic motifs, black-and-white posters and artwork where a stylish and modern expression is desired.

Glass

Glass has a major impact on how colours, contrasts and details appear. At PlakatKunst you can choose between four glass types:

Acrylic glass (plexiglass) – lightweight and shatterproof, ideal for large formats and homes with children.

Regular glass – classic clarity with natural reflections and accurate colour reproduction.

Non-reflective glass – significantly reduces glare with a softly matte surface, making the motif easier to view from different angles.

Museum glass – almost invisible, fully non-reflective and with at least 70% UV protection to preserve colours and details for many years.

Passepartout / Mat / Mount

A passepartout adds air, depth and balance to the framing. It creates visual space, highlights the subject and prevents the poster from touching the glass.

All our passepartouts are cut from 1.5 mm acid-free quality cardboard and are available in several carefully selected colours, each with a subtle texture that complements different motifs.

When using a passepartout, the frame must always be larger than the poster. A 34×34 cm poster, for example, fits perfectly in a 44×44 cm frame with a 5 cm passepartout.

Cutout size
Measure your poster carefully and choose a cutout that is 1 cm smaller in both height and width. A 47×47 cm poster therefore requires a 46×46 cm cutout. This ensures an overlap of approx. 5 mm on all sides.

You do not need to provide external dimensions — they always follow the frame’s glass size.

Cutout position

• Centered cutout: A classic and balanced look with equal distance to the top and bottom.
• Top-positioned cutout: The cutout is aligned with the top and sides, giving the bottom a wider and more graphic edge.
• No cutout: The passepartout is delivered without a cutout, and the motif is mounted on top — ideal for works with signatures or decorative borders.

Payment is handled securely via Shopify Payments and is only charged when your order ships. Order confirmation and invoice are sent by email and saved in your PlakatKunst account.

Returns

You have a 100-day return policy on standard products. Custom-made frames and passepartouts cannot be returned, as they are produced specifically to your measurements.

Complaints
If your frame arrives damaged, please send photos of the packaging and the damage to info@plakatkunst.dk. We will arrange a quick replacement.
