Purple mat with a shade that is almost dark brown. 1.5 thickness. This purple mat has more structure in the cardboard than the other colors, which some love while others are not so happy about it. However, you have to be close to notice it.

The hole in a passepartout is cut at a 45 degree angle, which gives depth and ensures that no shadow is cast on the poster. The angle also reveals the white cardboard behind the small surface, so you get a nice white border all the way around the image.

All of our passepartouts are made with high-quality acid-free cardboard, so you can frame even valuable art without damaging the work.

Enter the correct measurements.

When specifying the measurements here, start with the outside dimensions that you want. These should match the size of the glass in your frame. Please note that the glass typically sits 5 mm below the front of the frame, and the same rule applies to the mount.

We will also need the dimensions of your poster. The hole we cut will be 1 cm smaller than the poster, e.g. 47 x 58 cm if the poster measures 48 x 59 cm. This will allow the mat to overlap the poster by 5 mm, which is the normal recommendation, and will allow the poster to be taped to the back.

Remember: You do not need to provide us with the exact hole size, but rather dimensions that are 1 cm larger than the desired hole size. If you are in doubt, you can always contact us via Live Chat.
