Modern red picture frame with a matte varnish that completely covers the wood structure. The frame is 15 mm wide and 13 mm deep, which means that we do not sell it online in sizes larger than 55×75 cm.

Glass

Glass is a crucial part of your framing – both aesthetically and practically. At PlakatKunst you can choose between four different types of glass: lightweight and shatterproof acrylic glass, classic regular glass, non-reflective glass with a discreet matte surface and exclusive museum glass. Museum glass combines maximum clarity with minimal glare and provides at least 70% protection against UV rays, so your motif retains its colours and details for as long as possible.

Passepartout

Do you want to elevate your framing from beautiful to truly complete? A passepartout creates an elegant distance between the motif and the glass, adding depth and calm to the overall expression while protecting the artwork from direct contact with the glass.

All our passepartouts are cut from 1.5 mm acid-free quality cardboard and are available in several carefully selected colours. Each shade has its own subtle structure, allowing you to match both motif and frame in a refined and balanced way.

For the passepartout to work correctly, the frame must always be larger than the poster. A 34×34 cm poster therefore fits perfectly in a 40×40 cm frame — or in a 44×44 cm frame if you prefer a wider, more modern border.

When ordering a passepartout for custom dimensions, please specify the following:

Cutout size

Measure your poster carefully in both height and width. To achieve a clean and stable result, the cutout should be 1 cm smaller than the poster size in both directions. A 34×34 cm poster therefore requires a 33×33 cm cutout, providing an even overlap of approximately 5 mm on all sides.

The outer dimensions are automatically adjusted to the size of the glass in the frame and therefore do not need to be specified.

Cutout position

The cutout can be customised to suit your desired expression:

• Centered cutout: Equal distance to top and bottom for a calm, classic and harmonious look.
• Top-positioned cutout: Aligned with the top and sides, creating a more pronounced and elegant bottom edge.
• No cutout: Delivered as a full sheet without a cutout, with the motif mounted on top — ideal for art prints, signatures or motifs where the entire image surface should remain visible.

Payment & invoice

All payments are processed via Shopify Payments, and the amount is only charged when your order ships. You will receive an order confirmation by email, and the invoice will be automatically saved in your PlakatKunst account under the relevant order.

Returns
You have a 100-day right of return on standard products. Items made to measure — including passepartouts and custom frames — cannot be returned, as they are produced specifically to your measurements. If you are in doubt about anything, we are always happy to advise you before you order.

Complaints
If your order arrives damaged, please send photos of both the packaging and the damage to info@plakatkunst.dk. We will ensure a fast and smooth solution.
