Solid oak frame - Narrow (13 mm) - Custom size

About the frame
This custom-sized oak frame is made from solid oak with a slim 13 mm front and an external depth of 22 mm. The combination creates an elegant and relatively discreet expression while providing more strength and stability than completely flat, narrow frames.
The 13 × 22 mm profile is suitable for both smaller and medium-sized artworks where a minimalist framing with a little extra depth is desired. The frame can be produced in custom sizes up to 70 × 100 cm.
If you are looking for a wider custom-sized oak frame, you can find our 20 mm profiles here. They are available both as a 20 × 20 mm profile and the deeper 20 × 30 mm profile for larger formats.
If you prefer the slimmest possible expression, we also offer a narrower 12 × 18 mm oak profile, which creates an even lighter and more discreet look around the artwork.
All our oak frames are produced in Denmark using oak from responsibly managed forests in Canada. As wood is a natural material, grain and tone may vary slightly from frame to frame.
When ordering a custom-sized frame, you should specify the dimensions of your artwork, as the frame dimensions always refer to the size of the glass and backing board. The front overlaps the glass and backing board by approximately 5 mm all the way around.
Glass
For all our oak frames, you can choose between four different types of glass. Acrylic glass is the lightest option and especially practical for larger frames, as it is both shatterproof and significantly lighter than real glass.
Regular glass provides a classic and clear appearance, while non-reflective glass significantly reduces glare. Museum glass is our most exclusive solution with minimal reflections, excellent colour reproduction and effective UV protection for the artwork.

Passepartout / Mat / Mount
A passepartout can elevate the entire framing and create more space around the motif. At the same time, it functions as a distance layer between the artwork and the glass, protecting the image while creating a more refined visual expression.
All our passepartouts are produced from 1.5 mm acid-free quality board and are available in a wide selection of colours. Some boards have a completely smooth surface, while others feature a more textured finish depending on the shade and type.
Passepartout / Mat / Mount
When choosing a passepartout for a custom-sized frame, the frame itself must be larger than the motif. For example, an artwork measuring 40 × 50 cm can be framed in a 50 × 70 cm frame if you want a wide passepartout border around the artwork.
When ordering a custom-made passepartout, you should specify the following:
Cutout
Measure the height and width of the motif precisely. We recommend making the cutout 1 cm smaller in both height and width so that the passepartout overlaps the artwork by approximately 5 mm on all sides. An artwork measuring 50 × 70 cm should therefore have a cutout measuring 49 × 69 cm.
You do not need to take the outer dimensions of the passepartout into account, as these automatically follow the size of the frame glass.
Cutout position
You decide the placement of the cutout in the passepartout:
- Centred cutout: Classic placement with equal spacing all the way around.
- Top-positioned cutout: Creates more space below the motif, often used for art prints and photography.
- Passepartout without cutout: The passepartout is supplied without an opening, allowing the motif to be mounted on top of the board.
All passepartouts are produced to order from high-quality acid-free board.
