About the frame

This silver-colored wooden frame is created for those who want a light and sophisticated look with a subtle touch of exclusivity. The cool silver finish gives the frame a modern character that works equally well in a subdued, Nordic interior as in rooms with more color and contrast.

With its slim profile featuring a 13 mm front and a 10 mm external depth, the frame appears elegant and discreet. It frames the motif without drawing attention away from the image itself. The front overlaps the glass and back plate by approximately 4 mm, ensuring precise mounting and a clean, well-finished edge.

On the back, the frame is equipped with solid metal brackets, allowing it to be hung both vertically and horizontally depending on the format of the motif.

Glass selection

The choice of glass has a significant impact on how the motif is experienced in everyday use and how well it is protected over time. Each glass type offers its own visual characteristics:

Acrylic glass (plexiglass)
A lightweight and shatterproof material that is easy to handle and particularly suitable for larger formats or homes with children. Once the protective film is removed, it appears clear with reflections similar to regular glass.

Regular glass
A classic and well-proven choice with high clarity and natural color reproduction. The visible reflections contribute to a traditional and lively expression.

Non-reflective glass
The slightly matte surface significantly reduces glare and makes the motif more comfortable to view from multiple angles. An ideal choice for rooms with strong daylight or direct lighting.

Museum glass
The most exclusive option. Museum glass is almost invisible, minimizes reflections and provides up to 70% UV protection, helping preserve colors and details for many years. The result is an experience where the motif appears almost without glass.

Compare the four types of glass

Passepartout / Mat / Mount

If you want to use a passepartout, the frame should always be selected in a larger format than the motif itself. For example, a 24×24 cm poster with an approximately 3 cm passepartout fits perfectly in a 30×30 cm frame.

We offer passepartouts in several colors. However, for formats larger than 70×100 cm, they can only be produced in white.

Cutout

Measure your motif precisely and choose a cutout that is 1 cm smaller than the actual dimensions of the poster. For example, a poster measuring 66×88 cm should have a cutout of 65×87 cm. This provides an overlap of approximately 5 mm all the way around and ensures stable, professional mounting.

Exterior dimensions

The external dimensions of the passepartout always correspond to the glass size of the selected frame. The glass, passepartout and backing plate sit approximately 5 mm below the front profile of the frame.

Cutout position

You can choose between three options:

Centered cutout (standard): Symmetrical placement with equal distance to the top and bottom.

Top-positioned cutout: Same distance to the top and sides, creating more visual weight at the bottom.

Without cutout: The motif is mounted on top of the cardboard – ideal for signatures, borders or visible imprints.

All passepartouts are made of 1.5 mm acid-free quality cardboard.

Companies and public institutions that require invoices or EAN invoicing are welcome to contact us.

Payment is handled securely via Shopify Payments and is only charged once the order has been shipped. An order confirmation is sent by email, and the invoice is available in your PlakatKunst account.

Shipping & returns

All frames are made to order in our Danish workshop. We usually ship within a few business days, but during busy periods the production time may be slightly longer.

Return

You have a 100-day right of return. If you wish to return an item, please contact us at info@plakatkunst.dk. A return label is included in the package, and the return shipping fee will be deducted from the refund.

If the frame arrives damaged, we will of course send a replacement at no extra cost. Please email info@plakatkunst.dk within 7 days with photos of the damage, the frame in the packaging, and images of both the front and back of the box.
