Impressive 76 x 116 cm poster which was used over 100 years ago to promote travel to the Vietnamese resort of Vung Tau, which in French colonial times was known as Cap St. Jacques. The poster has the text: " Cochinchine Balnéaire Station ", meaning the seaside resort of Cochinchine, a historic region that makes up the southern third of Vietnam, with the largest city being Ho Chi Minh City. Vietnamese call it Nam Bộ , which means "the southern border country".

We do not know the exact years of this very old poster, but several factors such as the thin paper lead us to believe the poster was printed close to the year 1900.

The poster is divided into two is gathered in the middle. It has probably always been divided like this, but it still detracts from the condition of the poster. There is a little moisture damage, a small tear at the top and some patina.

Although the price is very high, we are pretty sure that it could easily be - and will be - much more expensive. You will not find this ancient poster here anywhere else on the internet.

Frame is not included in the price. See our large selection of beautiful frames that can be adapted exactly to any poster.
