Auricles

In 1807, Englishman Robert John Thornton made this beautiful illustration of auricles in the collection The Temple of Flora. The work is precisely called A Group of Auriculas. Thornton was also a doctor and botanical writer, although it was more in the cards for him to have a professional life within the church.
