About the frame

A warm and feminine frame that spreads light and lightness around your artwork. The pink high gloss gives the frame a refined and modern look – elegant without being showy. At just 13 mm in both width and depth, the frame strikes a delicate balance between simplicity and character, while the softly rounded edges emphasize its light shape. The surface is as smooth as porcelain and reflects the light in a way that brings out both the colors and the mood of the framed picture.

The frame is made of solid ayous wood – a hard and stable material that ensures a long life and a solid construction. It is available in 37 standard sizes from 10x10 cm up to 60x80 cm. The back has metal fittings, so the frame can easily be hung both vertically and horizontally, and the small metal clips (flexible tabs) make it easy to change the artwork. The front molding overlaps the glass and backing board by 5 mm, which holds everything securely in place without hiding any of the picture.

Glass

The glass completes the framing – both aesthetically and functionally.

Acrylic glass (plexiglass) is light, shatterproof, and almost as clear as standard glass once the protective film is removed.

Standard glass gives the classic, clear rendering of colors and contrasts.

Passepartout

A passepartout requires the frame to be one size larger than what you want to frame. If, for example, you want a border of about 5 cm around a 30×40 cm artwork, the frame must measure 40×50 cm.

Our passepartouts come in a range of color shades. Above 81×110 cm, however, the choice is limited to white and off-white.

Inner dimensions

The cutout size should be 1 cm smaller than the actual dimensions of the artwork. If your poster measures 30×40 cm, you should therefore choose a cutout size of 29×39 cm. This gives an overlap of around 5 mm on all sides, so the artwork stays firmly in place and mounting is easy. A reveal edge can be added in our Frame Designer.

Outer dimensions

The outer dimensions of the passepartout are always equal to the dimensions of the glass. The front edge of the frame overlaps the glass, passepartout, and backing board by about 5 mm, which is worth taking into consideration.

Number of cutouts

You decide for yourself whether the passepartout should have 0, 1, or up to 5 cutouts. If you need more, you are welcome to write to us. Without cutouts, the artwork is placed on top of the board – ideal for art prints where the entire edge or the signature should be visible.

Position of the cutout

Choose the position that best suits your artwork:

Centered cutout (standard): Symmetrical position with equal distance to the top and bottom.

Top-positioned cutout: The same distance to the top and sides, leaving a little extra space at the bottom.

Free choice: Gives you full control over the position. You enter the distance from the top and the left side and can see the result as you go in our preview.
