High-ranking courtesan (Oiran) who is in the process of putting on her make-up. An incredibly beautiful work with golden tones from the series Five Shades of Ink in the Northern Quarter (Hokkoku goshiki-zumi) by Japanese Utamaro Kitagawa (1754-1806). He is one of the best-known representatives of Ukiyo-e woodcuts and paintings.
