This passepartout in a deep reddish-brown shade adds warmth, depth and a more exclusive character to the framing. The earthy tone highlights the motif without appearing dominant and creates a beautiful contrast to both light and dark images.

The passepartout is made from 1.5 mm acid-free quality cardboard with a fine, discreet surface texture. The material is developed specifically for framing art and photography and protects the motif by creating a natural distance from the glass.

Each passepartout is produced individually to order. The cutout is made with a precise 45° bevel that reveals the white core of the board and gives the framing an elegant and professional sense of depth. The beveled edge also ensures that the motif does not lie directly against the glass.

How to choose the right dimensions

Exterior dimensions
The exterior dimensions correspond to the size of the frame. These measurements are identical to the dimensions of the glass in the frame and therefore determine the overall format of the passepartout.

Cutout
To ensure that the motif sits neatly and securely behind the passepartout, we recommend choosing a cutout that is 1 cm smaller than the actual dimensions of the motif in both width and height. This creates an overlap of approximately 5 mm all the way around.

For example, if your motif measures 53×67 cm, the recommended cutout is 52×66 cm.

Cutout position

The cutout is centered as standard, providing a classic and balanced framing. If you prefer a slightly wider margin at the bottom — often used for art prints and photographs — you can choose a top-positioned cutout, where the distance to the top and sides remains the same.

You can also order the passepartout without a cutout if the board is intended simply as a colored background behind the motif.

Return
There is a 100-day return policy on standard products. Custom-made items — including passepartouts produced to specific measurements — cannot be returned.

If your passepartout arrives damaged, simply send photos to info@plakatkunst.dk and we will immediately send you a replacement.
