When it comes to original vintage posters, ship and train posters are some of the most sought after. This lithograph from Canadian Pacific carries both motifs beautifully.
The ship resembles the RMS Empress of Australia, which took an active part in both world wars, and survived both, unlike most other Canadian Pacific ships. In the 1920s and 1930s, the ship transported people across the Atlantic for Canadian Pacific.
Canadian Pacific made some of the most beautiful posters of the time, and several of them were designed by the talented poster artist E. Hamilton. The English version of the poster is also rare, but we have never seen this Danish version before, and it seems unlikely that a similar copy would ever appear again.
Condition
8/10 - Some edge cracks, a tear at the bottom and patina.
Frame
The frame is not included in the price, but can be purchased separately. The two products will be sent separately, so that we don't run the risk of the poster breaking if something happens to the frame during shipping. We recommend a specially made frame with museum glass to protect this valuable poster from UV rays.
