Estate nelle Dolomiti

Beautiful Italian travel poster from 1940. A rare poster that we have seen before, but never in this almost beautiful condition. The poster has only two smaller folds, a small tear at the top and some patina. At the time of writing, it cannot be purchased elsewhere on the Internet.

The Dolomites are part of the Eastern Alps and are located in northern Italy. The mountain range attracts hikers and skiers from all over the world. The artist behind the poster is Franz Lenhart, who was an art student in Vienna who also studied in Florence before settling in Merano, where he lived the rest of his life. Lenhart was a painter, portraitist, illustrator and also designed more than seventy posters, many of which were with the Dolomites.
