About the frame

This exclusive wooden frame is made of dark wood with a beautiful and lively structure that gives each one its own natural character. The 10 mm slim front and 10 mm depth create a light and elegant look, while the front's 4 mm overlap ensures that the glass and artwork are held firmly in place without covering too much of what is framed.

The frame can be hung either vertically or horizontally on the wall, and in smaller formats up to 24×30 cm it can also stand freely on a table using the included stand. The back is fitted with metal fittings for hanging, and flexible metal clips that make it easy to replace the artwork again and again.

It is available in 30 standard sizes from 10×10 cm to 50×60 cm, and if you need a different format, it can also be ordered in a custom size.

Glass

Choose the glass that suits your needs,

Acrylic glass (plexiglass) – light, clear and shatterproof, with natural reflections when the light hits it.

Standard glass – classic clear glass with natural color rendering and visible reflections.

Non-reflective glass – reduces glare effectively with a slightly matte surface, ideal in rooms with a lot of light.

Museum glass – almost invisible glass with up to 70% UV protection, which both reduces glare and preserves the colors over time. It can have a faint greenish tint in certain lighting conditions.

Passepartout

If your artwork is to have a passepartout, you choose the frame in a format that is larger than the artwork itself. A 50×70 cm poster with approx. 5 cm of passepartout all the way around fits, for example, in a 60×80 cm frame.

We offer passepartouts in several shades. In formats above 81×110 cm, however, it is only possible to order them in white and off-white.

Inner size (cutout size)

The inner size should be 1 cm smaller than the size of your artwork. If you are framing a 70×100 cm poster with a passepartout, the cutout size should therefore be 69×99 cm. This way, the board overlaps the artwork by approx. 5 mm on all sides, which keeps the poster stable and makes it easy to mount. If you would prefer a reveal edge instead, you can select it in our Frame Designer.

Outer size

On the outside, the passepartout always has the same dimensions as the glass. Remember that the front edge of the frame extends approx. 5 mm in over the glass, passepartout and backing board.

Number of cutouts

The passepartout can be ordered with between 0 and 5 cutouts. If you need more, please do contact us. If you choose 0 cutouts, the artwork is placed on top of the board, so the entire edge, the signature or any print marks remain visible.

Position of the cutout

Choose the position that best suits your artwork:

Centered cutout (standard): Equal distance to the top and bottom gives a classic, balanced look.

Top-positioned cutout: Equal border at the top and on the sides, while the bottom gets a wider border – a classic gallery solution.

Free choice: Perfect if you have a specific position in mind. You choose the distance from the top and the left side, and our preview shows the result at all times.

All passepartouts are made of 1,5 mm acid-free board in professional quality.
