About the frame

This exclusive wooden frame is made of dark solid wood with a beautiful, lively grain that gives each piece its own natural character. The 10 mm narrow front and 10 mm depth create a light, elegant expression, while the 4 mm front overlap ensures that the glass and artwork are held securely in place without drawing attention away from the motif.

The frame can be hung vertically or horizontally, and in the smaller sizes up to 18×24 cm it can also stand freely on a table using the included support foot. On the back you will find metal brackets and flexible metal clips, allowing you to change the artwork again and again without wearing out the frame.

It is available in 30 standard sizes from 10×10 cm to 50×60 cm, and if you need a specific size, you can order a custom size here.

Glass

Choose the type of glass that suits your needs:

Acrylic glass (plexiglass) – lightweight, clear and shatterproof, though with reflections when exposed to light.

Regular glass – classic clarity with natural colour reproduction and visible reflections.

Anti-reflective glass – effectively reduces glare with a slightly matte surface; ideal for brightly lit rooms.

Museum glass – almost invisible with up to 70% UV protection, reducing glare and preserving colours over time. May show a subtle greenish tint in certain lighting conditions.

Passepartout / Mat

If you want a passepartout around your poster, the frame must always be chosen in a larger format than the motif itself. Example: A 40×40 cm poster with a passepartout of approx. 5 cm requires a 50×50 cm frame.

We can produce passepartouts in several colours, but for formats larger than 70×100 cm they can only be made in white.

Cutout

Measure your poster carefully and choose a cutout that is 1 cm smaller than the actual dimensions. Example: A poster measuring 66×88 cm requires a cutout of 65×87 cm. This provides approx. 5 mm overlap all the way around, ensuring stable and easy mounting.

Outer dimensions

The outer dimensions of the passepartout always match the size of the glass in the frame. Note that the glass, passepartout and backing plate sit approx. 5 mm behind the front edge of the frame.

Cutout position

You can choose between three designs:

Centered cutout (standard): Equal distance to top and bottom.

Top-positioned cutout: Same distance to top and sides, giving a wider lower border.

Passepartout without cutout: The poster is mounted on top of the cardboard — ideal if you want the full edge, signature or print marks to remain visible.

Passepartouts are always made from 1.5 mm acid-free quality cardboard.

Companies and public institutions requiring standard invoices or EAN billing can contact us via phone, chat or email.

Payment is handled securely via Shopify Payments, and the amount is only charged once the order has been shipped. You will receive an order confirmation by email, and the invoice can be found in your PlakatKunst account under the order.

Returns

You have a 100-day return policy.

If you wish to return an item, simply send an email to info@plakatkunst.dk. A return label is included in the package, and the return shipping cost will be deducted from your refund.

If you receive a damaged frame, we will of course send a replacement at no extra cost.
