Incredibly rare ship poster published by Ellerman & Bucknall Steamship Co. Ltd. in the 1920s - possibly the 1930s - which advertised travel to exotic destinations in the Far East. Specifically, China, Japan and the Straits. The Straits Settlements were a group of British territories located in Southeast Asia. Established in 1826 as part of territories controlled first by the British East India Company, later by the British Raj and then under direct British control as a Crown Colony in 1867. After World War II, the colony was dissolved.

We are only aware of one other copy of this lithograph.

Condition

6/10 - Folds, edge cracks and a lot of patina.
