Our selection of
Oak frames
We have selected six different oak frames, all of which have something to offer when it comes to framing your poster.
Solid oak frames consist of 100% untreated solid oak from Canadian forests. The solid oak is a very lively material, which is softer and with a more unpredictable structure in the wood than the other oak frames.
Solid oak can either be purchased as narrow (12 mm front and 18 mm deep) or wide (20 mm front and 20 or 30 mm deep).
Light oak has long been one of our most popular frames, as the structure of the wood is very beautiful and consistent. It can be purchased with narrow (15 mm front and depth) or wide (20 mm front and 30 mm depth).
Dark oak is becoming our most popular frame, and we understand why. It can either be purchased as narrow (12 mm front and 18 mm depth) or wide (20 mm front and 30 mm depth). In contrast to solid oak and light oak, there is quite a big difference between the narrow and the wide profile, as can be seen in the picture.
Three sizes of
Oak frames
When it comes to our solid oak frames, there are three different profiles to consider. It's worth noting that none of them are wider than they are deep, which we think is important for wood frames.
The narrow frame in solid oak is just 12 mm wide and 18 mm deep. It provides an elegant aesthetic. It can be bought up to 50x70, but is also an option for larger frames if you can pick up in Aarhus or Bjerringbro.
The 20 mm wide oak frame in solid oak can either be purchased with 20 mm or 30 mm depth. 20x20mm is our most popular frame, but our other wide wooden frames are 30mm deep, so the 20x30mm profile is best if your oak frame is to hang next to one of our other wide frames. The deeper profile certainly has its aesthetic benefits as well.
Regardless of the type of oak frame you choose, it's important to consider how they will fit in with the overall style and aesthetic of your space.
Buy an oak frame
With passepartout
There are many good reasons to choose passepartout for your oak frame.
We offer many different colors of passepartout, and most actually go really well with the oak.
The white passepartout is most popular, but it can also be bought with a black core, instead of white, which can be super nice for the right motif.
Maintenance of your
Oak frame
Oak frames require minimal maintenance to stay in top shape for decades. Regular cleaning and is all that is required to keep them beautiful and durable.
To preserve the natural beauty and durability of oak, it is important to clean it regularly to remove dust, dirt and other contaminants. This can be done with a soft brush or a lint-free cloth to avoid damaging the wood.
Occasional treatment with a clear varnish or oil can also help extend the life of oak frames and protect them from damage.
Our oak is untreated, and can therefore easily be treated with e.g. varnish if you want a different look.
With varnishing or just regular cleaning, you can ensure that your oak frame remains beautiful and durable for decades.
