About the frame

The matte brown frame combines classic craftsmanship with a warm, down-to-earth look. The color has a deep walnut-like tone that brings calm and balance to the room – ideal for everything from nature photographs to modern posters. The surface is silk-matte and highlights the character of the wood without shining. With its 15 mm slim profile and a front overlap of 5 mm, the frame creates a harmonious and precise overall impression.

The matte brown profile is a modern alternative to the classic wooden frame – still natural, but with a more contemporary, clean look that fits perfectly into Scandinavian interiors.

The frame is made from solid ayous wood, a strong and light material that ensures stability and long durability. The back is fitted with metal hangers for both vertical and horizontal hanging, and the flexible metal clips make it easy to replace the artwork many times without damaging the frame.

It is available in 37 standard sizes from 10×10 cm to 70×100 cm and can also be ordered in a custom size if you want a tailor-made format.

Glass

Acrylic glass (plexiglass) – light and shatterproof, but with reflections.

Standard glass – classic glass with natural color rendering and visible reflections.

Non-reflective glass – effectively reduces glare, ideal in rooms with a lot of light.

Museum glass – almost invisible, completely non-reflective and with at least 70% UV protection - approximately twice as much as the other glass types.

Passepartout

If there is to be a passepartout between the artwork and the frame, the frame is chosen in a larger format than the artwork. With a border of approx. 5 cm, an artwork of 50×50 cm fits in a brown matte wooden frame of 60×60 cm.

The passepartout is available in several colors to suit both your artwork and the frame. For sizes above 81×110 cm, only white and off-white can be ordered.

Cutout size

We recommend that you measure your artwork precisely and choose a cutout size that is 1 cm smaller. For a poster of 66×88 cm, this means a cutout size of 65×87 cm, so the passepartout overlaps by approx. 5 mm all the way around and holds the artwork securely. If you want a reveal edge, it can be selected in our Frame Designer.

Outer size

The outer size of the passepartout always matches the size of the glass, so you do not need to enter it yourself. Remember that the glass, passepartout and backing board sit approx. 5 mm in under the front of the frame.

Number of cutouts

The passepartout is available with 0-5 cutouts of your own choice. If you need more cutouts, please contact us. If you choose no cutouts, the work is mounted on top of the board, which highlights the entire edge of the picture, the signature and the print marks.

Placement of the cutout

You have three options to choose from:

Centered cutout (standard): The cutout sits in the middle of the passepartout with the same distance to the top and bottom.

Top-placed cutout: The distance to the top and sides is the same, which gives a visually balanced, wider bottom border.

Free placement: You decide for yourself where the cutout should sit by entering the distance from the top and from the left side. Our preview continuously shows what the result will look like.

The passepartouts are made from 1,5 mm acid-free board, which protects your artwork over time.
