About the frame

This matte brown wooden frame combines classic craftsmanship with a warm, earthy appearance. The deep walnut tone creates a calm and balanced expression, ideal for everything from nature photography to modern graphic posters. The silky matte surface highlights the natural character of the wood without shine. With its slim 15 mm profile and 5 mm front overlap, the frame creates a precise, harmonious finish around the motif.

The matte brown profile is a modern alternative to the traditional wood frame — still natural, but with a more contemporary, Scandinavian look.

The frame is made of solid ayous wood, a strong yet lightweight material known for stability and long durability. On the back, metal brackets allow both vertical and horizontal hanging, and the flexible metal clips let you change the contents many times without damaging the frame.

It is available in 37 standard sizes from 10×10 cm to 70×100 cm and can also be ordered in custom measurements.

Glass

Acrylic glass (plexiglass) — lightweight and shatterproof, with reflections similar to normal glass once the protective film is removed.

Normal glass — the classic choice with natural colour reproduction and visible reflections.

Non-reflective glass — effectively reduces glare thanks to its slightly matte surface; ideal in bright rooms.

Museum glass — almost invisible, completely non-reflective and with around 70% UV protection — roughly twice as much as other glass types.

Passepartout / Mat / Mount

If you want to use a passepartout, the frame should always be larger than the poster itself. Example: A 40×40 cm poster with an approx. 5 cm mount requires a 50×50 cm frame.

We offer passepartouts in several colours. However, in sizes above 70×100 cm they are only produced in white.

Cutout

Measure your poster carefully and choose a cutout that is 1 cm smaller in both height and width. For example, a poster measuring 66×88 cm requires a cutout of 65×87 cm. This gives an overlap of approx. 5 mm all around and ensures stable, secure mounting.

Outer dimensions

The outer dimensions of the passepartout always match the glass size of the frame. Please note that the glass, mount and backing plate sit approximately 5 mm behind the front profile of the frame.

Cutout position

You can choose between three options:

Centered cutout (standard): Balanced with equal distance to top and bottom.

Top-positioned cutout: Same distance to top and sides, resulting in a wider bottom border.

Mount without cutout: The poster is placed on top of the cardboard — ideal if the entire edge or a signature needs to remain visible.

All passepartouts are made of high-quality 1.5 mm acid-free cardboard.

Return

You always have a 100-day return policy.

If you wish to return an item, simply contact info@plakatkunst.dk. A return label is included in the package, and the return shipping cost will be deducted from your refund.

If a frame arrives damaged, we will of course send you a replacement at no extra cost.
