About the frame

The matte dark green surface gives this frame a subdued and refined look. The color lies somewhere between forest and shadow – deep, but still warm – and it frames both light and colorful artwork with a special calm. The frame measures 15 mm in width and overlaps the glass by 5 mm, so the artwork is held securely in place without disappearing behind the edge.

The frame is made of solid ayous wood – a strong and dimensionally stable material that is also surprisingly light. This makes it suitable for everything from small photographs to larger posters. On the back you will find metal hangers that allow both vertical and horizontal hanging, and the smart metal clips make it easy to replace the contents again and again – at least twenty times without losing their grip.

Glass

The choice of glass matters a great deal for both the appearance and the protection of your artwork:

Acrylic glass (plexiglass) – light, shatterproof and just as clear as standard glass once the film is removed on both sides.

Standard glass – classic, sharp and with natural color reproduction.

Non-reflective glass – reduces glare significantly with a slightly matte surface, ideal in rooms with a lot of light.

Museum glass – the exclusive solution, which combines high clarity with effective UV protection and almost invisible reflections.

Passepartout

If there is to be a passepartout between the artwork and the frame, choose the frame in a larger size than the artwork. With a border of approx. 5 cm, a 60×60 cm artwork fits in a 70×70 cm dark green matte wooden frame.

We offer passepartouts in several color tones. In sizes over 81×110 cm, however, it is only possible to order them in white and off-white.

Inner size

Measure the poster as accurately as possible, and enter a cutout size that is 1 cm smaller than the measurements. A 66×88 cm artwork should, for example, have a cutout size of 65×87 cm. This way the passepartout covers approx. 5 mm of the edge all the way around, and the poster sits stably. A reveal edge is also an option – you will find it in our Frame Designer.

Outer size

The outer dimensions of the passepartout are always equal to the size of the glass. The front edge of the frame overlaps the glass, passepartout and backing board by approximately 5 mm, which is good to keep in mind.

Number of cutouts

You freely choose the number of cutouts between 0 and 5 – feel free to contact us if you need more. The solution with zero cutouts is typically used for artworks that are to lie on top of the board, so the entire paper with signature and edge is visible.

Placement of the cutout

Choose between three types of placement:

Centered cutout (standard): The artwork is placed in the middle of the passepartout with an equal border at the top and bottom.

Top-positioned cutout: Equal border at the top and on the sides, while the bottom gets a wider border – a classic gallery solution.

Free choice: Gives you full control over the placement. You enter the distance from the top and the left side and can continuously see the result in our preview.
