About the frame

Matte sunny yellow wooden frame – bright, warm and full of optimism

The matte sunny yellow frame brings joy and light to any wall. The color has a soft golden undertone reminiscent of morning sun and summer days – warm without seeming showy. It adds life to light artwork and creates an eye-catching contrast to darker pictures. With its slim 15 mm profile and the 5 mm overlap of the front, the frame holds the picture securely in place and gives a modern, light look.

The frame is made from solid ayous wood, a hard and stable material with low weight, which makes it ideal for both small and larger formats. The back has metal hangers for vertical and horizontal hanging, and the flexible metal clips make it easy to replace the contents many times without the frame losing its firmness.

Glass

The glass is an important part of the overall impression – it affects both the appearance and the protection of your artwork:

Acrylic glass (plexiglass) – light and shatterproof, perfect for homes with children, but with reflections when the light hits.

Standard glass – classic choice with clear color rendering and visible reflections, which give a natural, vivid look.

Non-reflective glass – reduces glare significantly with its slightly matte surface and is ideal in rooms with strong light.

Museum glass – the absolute most exclusive solution. It is almost invisible, non-reflective and protects with 70% against harmful UV rays. The result is an experience where you see the artwork – not the glass.

Compare the four glass types and choose the solution that best highlights your artwork and suits the light in the room.

Passepartout

A passepartout requires the frame to be one format larger than what you want to frame. If, for example, you want a border of approximately 5 cm around a 50×50 cm artwork, the frame must measure 60×60 cm.

We offer passepartouts in several shades. In formats above 81×110 cm, however, it is only possible to order them in white and off-white.

Inner size

Measure the size of the poster as precisely as possible, and choose an inner cutout size that is 1 cm below the actual size. Example: With a passepartout for a poster of 42×59,4 cm, you should choose a cutout size of 41×58,4 cm. This gives an overlap of approx. 5 mm all the way around, so the poster lies stably and is easy to mount. If you want a reveal edge, you will find this option in our Frame Designer.

Outer size

The outer size is adjusted automatically, as it is always the same as the size of the glass. The glass, passepartout and backing board extend about 5 mm in under the front profile of the frame.

Number of cutouts

From 0 to 5 cutouts can be cut in the passepartout, and if you want even more, we are happy to help if you contact us. Zero cutouts is an obvious choice when the work is to lie on top of the board, so the edge, signature and print marks stand out.

Placement of the cutout

You have three options to choose from:

Centered cutout (standard): The same distance to the top and bottom – the classic solution.

Top-placed cutout: The cutout is moved up, so the distance to the top and sides is equal, and the bottom border becomes wider.

Free placement: Place the cutout exactly where you want it. Enter the distance from the top and the left side, and see the result immediately in our preview.

We use 1,5 mm acid-free board of professional quality for all passepartouts.
