About the frame

Matte sunny yellow wooden frame – bright, warm and full of optimism

The matte sunny yellow frame brings joy and light to any wall. The colour has a soft golden undertone, reminiscent of morning sun and summer days — warm without being flashy. It adds life to lighter motifs and creates a striking contrast to darker posters. With its slim 15 mm profile and 5 mm front overlap, the frame holds the poster securely and gives a clean, modern expression.

The frame is made of solid ayous wood, a hard and dimensionally stable material with low weight, making it suitable for both small and large formats. On the back you will find metal brackets for vertical and horizontal hanging, and the flexible metal clips make it easy to change the contents repeatedly without reducing the frame’s stability.

Glass

The glass plays a crucial role in both appearance and long-term protection of your artwork:

Acrylic glass (plexiglass) — lightweight, shatterproof and ideal for homes with children. It has reflections when light hits the surface.

Normal glass — classic, clear and with natural colour reproduction. Reflections remain visible, giving a vibrant, authentic look.

Non-reflective glass — significantly reduces glare thanks to its slightly matte surface. Perfect for bright rooms or spaces with many light sources.

Museum glass — the most exclusive choice. Almost invisible, non-reflective and with around 70% UV protection. It allows you to see the artwork itself — not the glass.

Compare the four glass types and choose the solution that best highlights your motif and suits the lighting in your room.

Passepartout / Mat / Mount

If you choose to frame your poster with a mount, the frame must always be larger than the poster itself. Example: A 40×40 cm poster with an approx. 5 cm mount requires a 50×50 cm frame.

We offer passepartouts in several colours, but for formats larger than 70×100 cm they can only be produced in white.

Cutout

Measure your poster precisely and choose a cutout that is 1 cm smaller than the actual poster size. For example, a poster measuring 66×88 cm requires a cutout of 65×87 cm. This provides an overlap of approx. 5 mm on all sides and ensures a secure, stable fit.

Outer dimensions

The outer dimensions of the mount always match the glass size of the selected frame. Please note that the mount, glass and backing plate sit approx. 5 mm behind the front profile of the frame.

Cutout position

Choose between three options:

Centered cutout (standard): Balanced placement with equal distance to top and bottom.

Top-positioned cutout: Equal distance to the top and sides, resulting in a noticeably wider bottom border.

Mount without cutout: The poster is placed on top of the cardboard — ideal when you want the full edge or signature to remain visible.

All mounts are cut from high-quality, acid-free 1.5 mm cardboard.

Payment is handled securely through Shopify Payments, and the amount is only charged once your order has been shipped. You will receive an order confirmation by email, and the invoice is available in your PlakatKunst account under the order.

Return

You always have a 100-day return policy.

If you wish to return an item, simply write to info@plakatkunst.dk. A return label is included in the package, and the return shipping cost will be deducted from your refund.

If the frame arrives damaged, we will of course replace it at no extra cost.
