Lithographic French travel poster from Saint-Aubin-sur-Mer on the Calvados coast. The poster shows a beautiful lady on the beach with her beach ball and her back to us. Instead of a clear sky, André Hardy has boldly illustrated wild clouds over the beaches of Normandy, which - in retrospect - can be read as a foreshadowing of the atrocities that took place on these beaches just 8 years after the poster was published in 1936.
This is an original vintage poster. It is not a reproduction, but a genuine high quality lithograph printed at Rotophot. At the time of writing, you won't find this poster for sale anywhere else on the internet, but we've seen it several times before, which made it easy to price the poster. However, we have never before come across a copy in this perfect condition.
10/10 - Naturally a poster of this age has a bit of patina, but the lithograph can be said to be in absolutely perfect condition.
The frame is not included in the price, but we recommend that you buy a custom-made frame with museum glass, which protects optimally against UV radiation and also shows off the poster best.
