About the frame
This elegant A4 frame is made in Denmark from solid oak from sustainable Canadian forests. The wood is left untreated, so you can enjoy the natural character of the oak – with lively grain, subtle colour variations and a warm glow that gives the frame character and depth.
The frame has a 20 mm wide front and can be chosen with either 20 or 30 mm depth. The shallower version gives a light and modern look, while the deeper profile adds more substance and an elegant play of shadows around the artwork. The front overlaps the glass by 5 mm, ensuring that picture, glass and backing board sit firmly and precisely.
On the back, the frame is fitted with brackets for both horizontal and vertical hanging, so you are free to choose how it is displayed. The solid construction and adjustable backing board make the frame suitable for works of varying thickness.

Glass
If you want a shatterproof alternative, the frame can be supplied with acrylic glass. If you prefer real glass, we offer three options: standard glass, non-reflective glass and museum glass. You can also choose the frame without any glass at all – in that case we recommend using a passepartout to hold thin paper in place, unless the picture is mounted directly on the supplied masonite backing board.

From drawing to finished frame
A3 measures 29.7×42 cm and is a practical size for drawings, watercolours, architectural sketches and prints from your printer or a print shop. Its proportions are slightly slimmer than, say, 30×40 cm, and in the frame designer you can see how different frames and passepartouts suit that ratio.
Choose an A3 frame if the artwork should fill the frame, or go up a size and use a passepartout to give the drawing a more dignified presentation. A light passepartout keeps the lines crisp, while a darker tone can give a print more depth.
