About the frame

This glossy blue wooden frame brings a fresh, optimistic energy into the room. The reflective surface gives posters and art prints a clean, modern expression, while the slim 13 mm profile keeps the frame discreet. The colour adds character without overpowering the motif, and the rounded corners give the design a soft, elegant finish.

The frame is made of solid ayous wood, a lightweight yet strong material. The front profile overlaps the glass by 5 mm, keeping everything securely in place without covering more than necessary. On the back, metal brackets allow vertical or horizontal hanging, and flexible metal clips make it easy to change the contents as often as needed.

The frame is available in 32 standard sizes from 10×10 cm to 50×70 cm, and it can also be made to custom dimensions.

Glass

Glass has a significant influence on both the appearance and preservation of your artwork.

Acrylic glass (plexiglass)
Lightweight, shatterproof and almost as clear as regular glass when the protective film is removed. Natural reflections.

Normal glass
Classic, clear and sharp, with visible reflections.

Non-reflective glass
Significantly reduces glare thanks to its slightly matte surface.

Museum glass
Almost invisible, with minimal glare and effective UV protection to preserve colours for many years.

Passepartout / Mat / Mount

If you want to use a passepartout around your poster, the frame must always be chosen in a larger format than the motif. For example, a 40×40 cm poster with an approx. 5 cm passepartout requires a 50×50 cm frame.

We offer passepartouts in several colours, although formats larger than 70×100 cm can only be produced in white.

Cutout

Measure your poster as precisely as possible, and choose a cutout that is 1 cm smaller in both width and height. For example, a poster measuring 66×88 cm should use a cutout of 65×87 cm. This gives approx. 5 mm overlap all the way around, ensuring both stability and easy mounting.

Outer dimensions

The outer dimensions of the passepartout always correspond to the size of the glass in the frame. Note that the glass, backing plate and passepartout sit approximately 5 mm behind the front profile of the frame.

Cutout position

You can choose between three cutout positions:

Centered cutout (standard): Equal distance to the top and bottom.

Top-positioned cutout: Same distance to the top and sides, giving extra width at the bottom.

Passepartout without cutout: The poster is mounted on top of the cardboard — ideal when you want to show the entire edge, signature or print marks.

All passepartouts are made from high-quality 1.5 mm acid-free cardboard.

Both companies and public institutions can request an invoice or EAN billing by contacting us via email, phone or chat.

Payments are processed securely through Shopify Payments. The amount is only charged when the order has been dispatched. You will receive an order confirmation by email, and the invoice will be available in your PlakatKunst account.

Returns

You have a 100-day return policy on all standard items. Custom-made frames and passepartouts cannot be returned, as they are produced specifically for your chosen measurements.

Damaged items
If your frame arrives damaged, we will replace it free of charge. Please send photos of the damage and packaging to info@plakatkunst.dk.
