About the frame

The matte blue surface gives the frame a calm, modern and sophisticated look. The colour lies somewhere between sea and sky – rich, clean and balanced – offering a subtle contrast to both warm and cool motifs. The narrow 15 mm profile and the 5 mm front overlap hold the poster securely in place while keeping the expression light and minimal.

The frame is made of solid ayous wood, a hard yet lightweight material that combines durability with an elegant finish. The back is fitted with metal brackets for both vertical and horizontal hanging, and the flexible metal clips allow you to replace the contents repeatedly without weakening the frame.

We offer 32 standard sizes with this matte blue profile, from 10×10 cm up to 70×100 cm.

Glass

Acrylic glass (plexiglass) — lightweight, shatterproof and clear like regular glass once the protective film is removed, but with reflections.

Normal glass — classic clarity with natural reflections that add vibrancy to the motif.

Non-reflective glass — significantly reduces glare thanks to its slightly matte surface; ideal in bright rooms.

Museum glass — almost invisible, with exceptional clarity, minimal reflection and high UV protection to preserve colours over time.

Passepartout / Mat / Mount

If you want to use a mount, the frame must always be selected in a larger format than the poster itself. Example: A 40×40 cm poster with an approx. 5 cm mount requires a 50×50 cm frame.

We offer passepartouts in several colours, but for formats larger than 70×100 cm they can only be produced in white.

Cutout

Measure your poster carefully and choose a cutout that is 1 cm smaller than the poster’s actual height and width. For example, a poster measuring 66×88 cm requires a cutout of 65×87 cm. This gives approx. 5 mm overlap on all sides and ensures stable mounting.

Outer dimensions

The outer dimensions of the mount always match the glass size of the selected frame. Note that the mount, glass and backing plate sit approx. 5 mm behind the front edge of the frame.

Cutout position

You can choose between three options:

Centered cutout (standard): Equal distance to top and bottom for a balanced and harmonious placement.

Top-positioned cutout: Same distance to top and sides, giving a wider mount edge at the bottom.

Mount without cutout: The poster is placed on top of the cardboard — ideal when you want the full motif, signature or edge markings to remain visible.

All mounts are cut from 1.5 mm high-quality, acid-free cardboard.

Return

You always have a 100-day return policy.

If you wish to return an item, simply write to info@plakatkunst.dk. A return label is included in the package, and the return shipping cost will be deducted from your refund.

If the frame arrives damaged, we will of course send a replacement free of charge.
