About the frame

This matte grey wooden frame creates a calm and modern expression, where the colour gives a completely different atmosphere than classic brown wooden frames. The cool, neutral grey tone adds a minimalist and subdued touch, perfect for contemporary spaces and Scandinavian interiors. The matte finish prevents reflections and emphasises the clean lines of the frame without drawing attention away from the artwork.

The profile is 15 mm narrow with a 5 mm front overlap, ensuring light yet precise framing. Where brown wooden frames add warmth, this grey variant creates a more stylish and graphic impression, particularly suited for modern posters, black-and-white artwork and motifs with muted colours.

The frame is made of solid ayous wood — a strong, stable and lightweight material. The back is fitted with metal brackets for both vertical and horizontal hanging, and the flexible metal clips allow you to change the artwork repeatedly without wearing out the frame.

It is available in 37 standard sizes from 10×10 cm to 70×100 cm, and can also be ordered in custom dimensions if you need a tailored solution.

Glass

Acrylic glass (plexiglass) – lightweight and shatterproof, with reflections similar to regular glass.

Regular glass – classic clarity with natural colour reproduction and visible reflections.

Non-reflective glass – significantly reduces glare thanks to its softly matte surface; ideal in bright rooms.

Museum glass – almost invisible, completely non-reflective and with at least 70% UV protection.

Passepartout / Mat / Mount

If you want to use a passepartout, the frame must always be chosen in a larger format than the poster itself. For example: a 40×40 cm poster with a passepartout width of approx. 5 cm requires a 50×50 cm frame.

We offer passepartouts in several colours. However, in formats over 70×100 cm, they can only be produced in white.

Cutout
Measure your poster very precisely and choose a cutout that is 1 cm smaller than the motif’s actual height and width. For a 66×88 cm poster, the correct cutout is 65×87 cm. This gives an overlap of approx. 5 mm on all sides.

Outer dimensions
The outer dimensions of the passepartout always follow the glass size of the frame. The glass, backing plate and passepartout sit approximately 5 mm behind the front profile.

Cutout position

Centered cutout (standard): Equal distance to top and bottom.

Top-positioned cutout: Same distance to top and sides, with a wider edge at the bottom.

Passepartout without cutout: The poster is mounted on top of the cardboard — ideal for artworks with visible signatures or special edges.

All passepartouts are made from 1.5 mm acid-free quality cardboard.

Returns

You have a 100-day return policy. Contact us at info@plakatkunst.dk if you wish to return an item. A return label is included in the package, and the return shipping fee will be deducted from your refund.

If your frame arrives damaged, we will of course send a replacement at no cost.
