About the frame

The glossy yellow finish casts a warm light around the motif, drawing the eye without overwhelming it. The colour adds energy to graphic posters and creates a bright, sunny contrast to black-and-white photography. The slim profile and rounded corners keep the overall expression light, modern and playful.

Glass

Choosing the right glass is important for both appearance and protection. Prices vary by size and type: for smaller formats, acrylic glass and normal glass cost the same, while normal glass becomes more expensive for larger sizes due to packaging and shipping requirements.

Acrylic glass (plexiglass)
Lightweight, shatterproof and almost as clear as normal glass once the protective film is removed. Natural reflections.

Normal glass
Classic, clear and sharp with traditional reflections.

Non-reflective glass
Significantly reduces glare thanks to its slightly matte surface.

Museum glass
Crystal clarity, minimal glare and UV protection to preserve colours and details for many years.

Passepartout / Mat / Mount

If your poster needs a passepartout, the frame must always be larger than the poster itself. As a rule of thumb, a 40×40 cm poster with an approx. 5 cm passepartout requires a 50×50 cm frame.

We offer passepartouts in several colours, although in sizes over 70×100 cm they are available only in white.

Cutout

Measure your poster precisely and choose a cutout that is 1 cm smaller in both height and width. For example, a 66×88 cm poster should use a 65×87 cm cutout. This provides approx. 5 mm overlap all around for secure and easy mounting.

Outer dimensions

The outer dimensions of the passepartout always correspond to the size of the glass in the frame. Note that the glass, backing plate and passepartout lie approximately 5 mm behind the front profile of the frame.

Cutout position

You can choose between three cutout placements:

Centered cutout (standard): Equal distance to top and bottom.

Top-positioned cutout: Same distance to the top and sides, giving extra width at the bottom.

Passepartout without cutout: The poster is mounted on top of the cardboard — ideal for showing the full edge, signature or print marks.

All passepartouts are cut from high-quality 1.5 mm acid-free cardboard.

Returns

You have a 100-day return policy.

If you wish to return an item, simply write to info@plakatkunst.dk. A return label is included in the package, and the return shipping cost will be deducted from your refund.

If your frame arrives damaged, we will of course replace it at no cost.
