About the frame
This premium aluminum frame in matte black gives a simple and striking framing where your artwork is allowed to take center stage. The dark, neutral finish creates a beautiful contrast to light posters and also works well with strong colors and darker artwork.
The frame fits pictures and posters in 70 x 70 cm, but can also be used for smaller artwork with a passepartout. The slightly curved front is only 6 mm wide, while the 20 mm deep sides have an elegant grooved structure. The result is an exclusive profile that appears unusually slim from the front, but has more character and depth when seen from the side.
Aluminum is particularly well suited when you want a very slim frame in a large format. The strength of the material makes it possible to keep the front, only 6 mm wide, in 70 x 70 cm, where correspondingly slim wooden profiles would not be stable enough.
Framing and hanging
The premium frame has two movable brackets on the back, which are used together with the included cord for hanging.
How to mount your artwork:
- Loosen the screws in the four corners of the frame.
- Remove the two hanging brackets from one of the frame bars, as well as the clamps that hold the backing board in place.
- Detach that frame bar completely.
- Pull the acrylic glass and backing board out of the frame together.
- Place your artwork between the acrylic glass and the backing board.
- Slide the acrylic glass, artwork and backing board back into the aluminum profile.
- Put the frame bar back on and tighten the corner screws almost all the way.
- Refit the clamps so that the backing board lies tightly against the acrylic glass.
- Finish by tightening the corner screws completely.
Glass
For this large aluminum frame, we offer acrylic glass (plexiglass) only. It is considerably lighter than real glass and also shatterproof, which makes it particularly well suited to large formats with an aluminum profile. Once the protective film has been removed from both sides, the acrylic glass appears clear and gives a beautiful rendering of your artwork.
If you want standard glass, non-reflective glass or museum glass for artwork in 70 x 70 cm, you can instead choose one of our 70 x 70 cm wooden frames. You can also buy real glass locally for the aluminum frame. Contact us if you would like to order the frame without glass.
