About the frame
In our range you will find both a standard aluminium frame for the smaller formats and this exclusive premium frame from the German brand Nielsen. The premium version is known for its exceptional stability and precision and is among the most solid aluminium frames on the market.
The standard frame has a noticeably warmer, more golden tone, while this premium model offers a lighter, elegant and more subdued gold colour.
The front profile is slightly curved and only 6 mm wide, giving a minimalist and modern appearance. Combined with the glossy finish, it achieves a light and refined look while remaining strong enough for even the largest formats. The sides have a brushed matte surface and a depth of 20 mm.
You can purchase the frame in the following standard formats:
30×30 cm – 11.8×11.8 in
30×40 cm – 11.8×15.7 in
29.7×42 cm (A3) – 11.7×16.5 in
30×45 cm – 11.8×17.7 in
32.9×48.3 cm (A3+) – 13.0×19.0 in
40×40 cm – 15.7×15.7 in
40×50 cm – 15.7×19.7 in
40×60 cm – 15.7×23.6 in

For formats below 30×30 cm, only our standard matte gold aluminium frame is used.
If you need other dimensions, you can choose the premium gold aluminium frame with custom measurements.
Note: The listed sizes always refer to the glass and backing dimensions. A 30×30 cm frame fits a 30×30 cm poster exactly.
Passepartout / Mat / Mount
If you want a passepartout around the motif, the frame must be selected in a larger format than the poster itself. Example: A 30×30 cm poster with a passepartout of approx. 5 cm requires a 40×40 cm frame.
We offer passepartouts in several colours. However, for formats larger than 70×100 cm, only white cardboard is available.
Inner dimensions
Measure your poster carefully and choose a cutout that is 1 cm smaller than the poster’s actual width and height. For example, a 42×56 cm poster should have a cutout of 41×55 cm. This provides an overlap of approx. 5 mm along all edges.
Outer dimensions
The outer dimensions always follow the glass size of the frame. Glass, passepartout and backing sit approximately 5 mm behind the front profile.
Location of the cutout
- Centered cutout (standard): Equal distance to top and bottom.
- Top-positioned cutout: Same distance to top and sides, giving a wider lower border.
- Without cutout: A full sheet where the poster is mounted on top — ideal if you want edges or signature visible.
All passepartouts are made from 1.5 mm acid-free quality cardboard.
Glass selection
The choice of glass has a major impact on both appearance and protection. In aluminium frames, glass is slightly more expensive because metal frames require more careful handling, and breakage during transport is more common. If it happens, we will of course send new glass (and a new frame if needed) — this risk is included in the price.
Acrylic glass (plexiglass)
Lightweight, shatterproof and clear like regular glass, with natural reflections.
Regular glass
Classic glass with natural colour reproduction and clear reflections.
Non-reflective glass
Reduces glare with a softly matte surface. Recommended for bright rooms or areas with strong light.
Museum glass
Almost invisible, with minimal reflections and at least 70% UV protection. Together with the UV filtering of modern windows, it provides excellent long-term preservation of colours and fine details.
Framing & handling
The premium frame has two removable brackets on the back. The included cord can be used for horizontal hanging.
How to place the poster in the frame:
- Loosen the corner screws and remove the two brackets on one of the short sides.
- Remove the clips holding the back plate.
- Lift off the short aluminium profile.
- Slide out the glass and back plate together.
- Place the poster between the glass and the back plate.
- Slide the unit back into the frame.
- Reattach the profile and tighten the screws lightly.
- Secure the back plate with the clips.
- Fully tighten the corner screws.
