About the frame

This matte white wooden frame adds light, calm and balance to the room. The fine, visible wood structure subtly breaks the purity of the colour, giving the frame warmth and character instead of a sterile appearance. With its 10 mm narrow profile and 10 mm outer depth, it has a light, modern look that works beautifully with both minimalist and colourful motifs. The 4 mm front overlap keeps the poster securely in place without drawing attention.

The frame is made of solid ayous wood, a strong yet lightweight material. It can be hung both vertically and horizontally, and smaller formats (up to 18×24 cm) can stand freely using the included support foot. The back features sturdy metal brackets and flexible metal clips, allowing you to change the contents easily.

This wooden frame is simple and honest – a bright, natural choice that lets both the artwork and the room breathe.

It is available in 30 standard sizes from 10×10 cm to 50×60 cm and can also be made to custom dimensions.

Glass

Acrylic glass (plexiglass) – lightweight, shatterproof and with natural reflections that give the motif a soft glow.

Regular glass – traditional and clear, with reflections that add life and depth to the artwork.

Non-reflective glass – reduces glare and creates a soft, subdued light; ideal for bright rooms with large windows.

Museum glass – almost invisible, non-reflective and offering at least 70% UV protection, helping your artwork maintain its original colours for many years.

Passepartout / Mat / Mount

If you want a passepartout around your poster, the frame must always be chosen in a larger format than the motif. For example, a 40×40 cm poster with an approx. 5 cm passepartout requires a 50×50 cm frame.

We offer passepartouts in several colour tones. However, in sizes over 70×100 cm, they are only available in white.

Cutout

Measure your poster as accurately as possible and choose a cutout that is 1 cm smaller than the poster itself. Example: A poster measuring 66×88 cm should use a cutout of 65×87 cm. This gives an overlap of approx. 5 mm around the edges, ensuring stability and easy mounting.

Outer dimensions

The outer dimensions of the passepartout always match the dimensions of the glass in the frame. Please note that the glass, backing plate and passepartout sit approximately 5 mm behind the front profile of the frame.

Cutout position

You can choose between three cutout positions:

Centered cutout (standard): Placed symmetrically between the top and bottom.

Top-positioned cutout: Same distance to the top and sides, creating a wider bottom border.

Passepartout without cutout: The poster is mounted on top of the cardboard – ideal when you want to show the full edge of the artwork, including signatures or print marks.

All passepartouts are made from high-quality 1.5 mm acid-free cardboard.

Both companies and public institutions can receive invoices or EAN billing by contacting us via email, chat or telephone.

Payments are handled securely through Shopify Payments, and the amount is only charged once your order has been dispatched. You will receive an order confirmation by email, and the invoice will be available in your PlakatKunst account.

Returns

You have a 100-day return policy on all standard items. Custom-made frames and passepartouts cannot be returned, as they are produced according to your chosen measurements.

Damaged items
If your frame arrives damaged, we will send a replacement at no extra cost. Please send photos of the packaging and damage to info@plakatkunst.dk.
