About the frame

This matt white wooden frame is ideal if you want a light and neutral frame that lets the motif stand out clearly. The surface is completely uniform and completely matt, so that the structure of the wood cannot be seen. The result is a sharp and modern frame with a calm, minimalist expression. The profile measures 15 mm in both width and depth, and the 5 mm overlap of the front holds the motif securely in place without hiding more than necessary.

The frame is available in all our fixed standard sizes, and the dimensions always refer directly to the size of the glass and backing plate. A frame of, for example, 50×50 cm will therefore fit a poster of the same size exactly.

Glass selection

The glass is a central part of the experience — both visually and in terms of protecting your subject. Below you will find the four types of glass that can be chosen for this frame:

Acrylic glass (plexiglass)

A lightweight and shatterproof solution, which is especially suitable for large formats and homes where safety is a high priority. When the protective film is removed, the acrylic glass appears with a clear and shiny surface that resembles regular glass.

Normal glass

The traditional choice with beautiful color reproduction and clear reflections, which many associate with a classic and timeless look.

Non-reflective glass

A glass with a discreet matte structure that reduces annoying glare. Ideal in rooms with lots of light, large windows or many light sources.

Museum glass

The most exclusive type of glass. Museum glass appears almost invisible, minimizes reflections and provides around 70% UV protection. Together with the UV filters already found in modern windows, your subject receives extremely effective overall protection. It almost feels like looking at the artwork without glass — but with maximum preservation.

Choose the glass solution that matches both the subject and the lighting conditions. This affects the overall impression much more than you might think.

Passepartout

When choosing a mount for your poster, it is important that the frame is chosen in a larger format than the motif. Example: A 40×40 cm poster with a mount of about 5 cm should be placed in a 50×50 cm frame.

We offer mounts in several colors, but in formats larger than 70×100 cm we can only produce them in white.

Inner dimension

Measure your poster precisely and choose an inside measurement that is 1 cm smaller than the actual dimensions of the poster. For example, if you have a motif of 66×88 cm, we recommend a hole of 65×87 cm. This gives approximately 5 mm overlap all the way around and ensures that the poster is secure and easy to mount.

Outer dimensions

The external dimensions of the mount are always identical to the dimensions of the glass in the frame. Please note that the back plate, glass and mount slide approximately 5 mm under the front edge of the frame.

Location of the cutout

There are three different options:

Centered cutout (standard): Equal distance to both top and bottom provides symmetrical placement.

Top-positioned cutout: The cutout is the same distance from the top and sides, leaving a wider edge at the bottom.

Passepartout without cutout: The poster is placed on top of the cardboard — ideal for motifs where you want to show the entire edge or a signature.

All passe-partouts are made of 1.5 mm acid-free quality cardboard.

Companies and public institutions that need a regular invoice or EAN invoicing can contact us via email, chat or phone.

Payment is handled securely through Shopify Payments, and the amount is only deducted when the order is shipped. The order confirmation is sent by email, and the invoice is in your PlakatKunst account under the order.

Shipping & returns

All frames are produced to order in our Danish workshop. We usually ship within a few business days, but during busy periods the production time may be a little longer.

GLS usually delivers the next business day after dispatch.

Frames larger than 70×100 cm are sent with DSV freight forwarder directly to the address, as they are too large for GLS. They are typically delivered the next business day in Jutland and Funen and within two business days in the rest of the country.

Return

You always have a 100-day return policy.

Contact us at info@plakatkunst.dk if you wish to return. A return label is included in the package, and the return shipping will be deducted from your refund.

If you receive a damaged frame, we will of course send you a new one free of charge.
