Very rare original vintage poster in orange and blue of the Khedivial Mail Line, a steamship company that operated ships from Alexandria, Egypt. The exact date of the company's establishment is unknown, but it was most likely in the latter half of the 19th century.

In 1936 the company changed its name to Pharonic Mail Line and was nationalized by the Egyptian government in 1961 and renamed the United Arab Maritime Company.

We don't know exactly when the lithograph was printed, but it was obviously before the name change in 1936. Maybe in the 1920s, but most of the posters in our collection are from the 1930s, and the design and the designer's history also point us towards this decade.

We have never seen this poster before, nor is it to be found anywhere else on the internet. A very unique lithograph in near perfect condition. Our price may seem high, but it is probably worth much more.

Simple yet detailed design by Frank Mason and lithographically printed with stones.

Condition

9/10 - Tear at the bottom, and a little patina but basically perfect condition.
