Glass

Choosing the right glass has a major impact on both appearance and protection. Prices vary by size and type: for small formats, acrylic glass and normal glass cost the same, while normal glass becomes more expensive in larger sizes due to the packaging and shipping requirements of real glass.

Acrylic glass (plexiglass)
Lightweight, shatterproof and almost as clear as normal glass when the protective film is removed. Natural reflections.

Normal glass
Classic clarity with recognisable reflections.

Non-reflective glass
Significantly reduces glare thanks to its slightly matte surface.

Museum glass
Exceptional clarity, minimal glare and UV protection to preserve colours for many years.

Passepartout / Mat / Mount

If you choose a passepartout, the frame must always be larger than the poster itself. Example: a 40×40 cm poster with an approx. 5 cm passepartout requires a 50×50 cm frame.

We offer passepartouts in several colours, although in sizes above 70×100 cm they are available only in white.

Cutout

Measure your poster precisely and choose a cutout that is 1 cm smaller in height and width. For example, a 66×88 cm poster should use a 65×87 cm cutout. This provides approx. 5 mm overlap all around, ensuring secure and easy mounting.

Outer dimensions

The outer dimensions of the passepartout always correspond to the size of the glass in the frame. Note that the glass, backing plate and passepartout sit approx. 5 mm behind the front profile of the frame.

Cutout position

You can choose between three cutout placements:

Centered cutout (standard): Equal distance to both top and bottom.

Top-positioned cutout: Same distance to the top and sides, resulting in a wider margin at the bottom.

Passepartout without cutout: The poster is mounted on top of the cardboard — ideal if you want the entire edge, signature or print marks visible.

All passepartouts are made from high-quality 1.5 mm acid-free cardboard.

Companies and public institutions that require invoices or EAN billing can contact us via email, phone or live chat.

Payment is handled securely through Shopify Payments, and the amount is only charged once the order has been shipped. An order confirmation will be sent by email, and the invoice is available in your PlakatKunst account.

Returns

You always have a 100-day return policy.

If you wish to return an item, simply contact us at info@plakatkunst.dk. A return label is included in the package, and the return shipping cost will be deducted from your refund.

If the frame is damaged upon receipt, we will of course send a replacement at no extra cost.
