About the frame

The matte purple frame radiates calm, mystery and refinement. The color has a dark, muted shade between violet and plum – a tone that feels both exclusive and warm. The purple profile is a stylish alternative to the classic black picture frame, and it can bring out entirely new nuances and impressions in the framed artwork. The slim 15 mm profile and the 5 mm overlap at the front give a precise, harmonious edge that lets the picture stand out clearly without visual noise.

The frame is made of solid ayous wood, a lightweight and dimensionally stable material that ensures high quality and long durability. The back has metal fittings for both vertical and horizontal hanging, and the flexible metal clips make it possible to replace the artwork many times without weakening the construction.

Glass

The glass is crucial to both the protection and the experience of your artwork:

Acrylic glass (plexiglass) – lightweight, shatterproof and with reflections, as with standard glass.

Standard glass – classic, sharp and with visible reflections that can give a lively light in the picture.

Non-reflective glass – reduces glare significantly with a slightly matte surface, ideal in rooms with strong lighting.

Museum glass – the most exclusive solution: almost invisible, completely non-reflective and with at least 70% UV protection, so your picture is preserved perfectly for many years.

The matte purple frame combines calm, color and elegance – a discreet, yet striking way to give art and photography new life on the wall.

Compare the four types of glass

Passepartout

If you want a passepartout between the artwork and the frame, choose the frame in a larger format than the artwork. With a border of approx. 5 cm, an artwork measuring 40×50 cm fits in a purple matte wooden frame measuring 50×60 cm.

Our passepartouts come in a range of color shades. Above 81×110 cm, however, the choice is limited to white and off-white.

Cutout size

The cutout size should be 1 cm smaller than the actual dimensions of the artwork. If your poster measures 41×51 cm, you therefore choose a cutout size of 40×50 cm. This gives an overlap of around 5 mm on all sides, so the artwork lies firmly in place and mounting is easy. A reveal edge can be added in our Frame Designer.

Outer dimension

The outer dimension is adjusted automatically, as it is always the same as the dimensions of the glass. The glass, passepartout and backing board extend around 5 mm in under the front profile of the frame.

Number of cutouts

You freely choose the number of cutouts between 0 and 5 – feel free to contact us if you need more. The solution with zero cutouts is typically used for artworks that are to lie on top of the board, so the entire sheet with signature and edge is visible.

Positioning the cutout

The cutout can be positioned in three different ways:

Centered cutout (standard): The cutout is placed with symmetrical distance to the top and bottom.

Top-positioned cutout: The cutout is moved up, so the distance to the top and sides is equal and the bottom border becomes wider.

Free choice: Gives you full control over the position. You enter the distance from the top and the left side and can see the result continuously in our preview.

We use 1,5 mm acid-free board of professional quality for all passepartouts.
