Very rare original vintage travel advertising poster promoting tourism to London in the 1930s. This unique example was designed by Ernest Coffin (1868-1944) and published by the GWR (Great Western Railway) in 1936. The Great Western Railway was founded in 1833.
This original lithographic masterpiece is filled with details from the English capital, shown in a bird's eye view with, among other things, Pall Mall, Trafalgar Square and Nelson's Column with St. Paul's Cathedral. Double-decker London buses on the roads, bridges and ships on the River Thames as well.
Condition
10/10 - Very little wear on the sides, but otherwise absolutely perfect condition with fantastic colours.
Framing
Frame is not included in the price. See our large selection of custom frames, which can be adapted precisely to the poster's 63.5x102 cm. If you buy both frame and poster, the two products are sent separately, unless you buy the shatter-free acrylic glass for the frame. We always recommend museum glass for these precious posters, but cannot risk ruining the poster if the glass breaks during shipping.
