About the frame
This dark red high-gloss frame adds warmth and intensity to the wall. The deep color appears as a balance between classic red wine and mahogany, and the smooth, reflective surface gives an exclusive feel. Together they create a frame that can seem both bold and sophisticated – depending on the artwork. The 13 mm slim profile keeps the look elegant and modern, while the rounded corners add a soft and balanced shape. A stylish choice for both modern posters and timeless art prints – and an exciting alternative to the classic black picture frame.
The frame is made of solid ayous wood, which combines high strength with low weight. The front molding overlaps the glass by 5 mm to hold the artwork securely in place without hiding the picture. On the back, the frame is equipped with metal fittings, so it can be hung both vertically and horizontally, and small metal clips (flexible tabs) make it easy to replace the contents.
The frame is available in 32 standard sizes from 10×10 cm to 50×70 cm, and can also be made to measure.

Glass
The glass is of great importance for both the experience and the protection of the artwork. For small frames, acrylic glass and standard glass cost the same, while real glass in larger sizes is more expensive because it requires more extensive packaging and shipping.
Acrylic glass (plexiglass) – light, shatterproof and almost as clear as standard glass once the protective film is removed. With glare.
Standard glass – classic and clear, gives artwork a sharp look. With glare.
Non-reflective glass – reduces glare significantly with a slightly matte surface.
Museum glass – combines maximum clarity, low glare and effective UV protection, so the colors stay vivid for many years.

Passepartout
If you choose to add a passepartout, the frame must be larger than your artwork. For a 30×40 cm poster with around 5 cm of passepartout, you will for example need a 40×50 cm frame.
Passepartouts can be ordered in several color tones – though only in white and off-white when the size is larger than 81×110 cm.
Cutout size
The inner size must be 1 cm below the size of the artwork. If you are framing a 50×70 cm poster with a passepartout, the cutout size should therefore be 49×69 cm. This way the board overlaps the artwork by approx. 5 mm on all sides, which makes the poster stable and easy to mount. If you would rather have a reveal edge, you can select it in our Frame Designer.
Outer size
The outer size of the passepartout always matches the size of the glass, so you do not need to enter it yourself. Remember that the glass, passepartout and backing board sit approx. 5 mm in under the front of the frame.
Number of cutouts
Choose between 0-5 cutouts in the passepartout – and feel free to contact us if you want more. A passepartout without cutouts is typically used when an artwork is to be mounted on top of the board, e.g. to show the entire paper edge or the signature.
Position of the cutout
There are three positions to choose from:
Centered cutout (standard): The cutout is placed with symmetrical distance to the top and bottom.
Top-positioned cutout: The same border width at the top and sides and a slightly wider border at the bottom.
Free placement: Place the cutout exactly where you want it. Enter the distance from the top and the left side, and see the result immediately in our preview.
The passepartouts are produced in 1,5 mm acid-free board, which is gentle on the artwork over time.
