About the frame

The matte dark blue surface gives the frame an exclusive and balanced expression. The colour adds a calm, cool depth that makes bright motifs stand out clearly while adding character to more saturated artworks. Depending on the subject, the frame can appear both classic and bold.

The profile is 13 mm deep with a narrow 15 mm front that overlaps the glass by 5 mm, keeping the poster securely in place without taking focus away from the image.

The frame is made of solid ayous wood — a hard, dimensionally stable and lightweight material that ensures durability. It is suitable for both small pictures and large posters, and the precise joints give a clean, sharp finish. The back is equipped with metal brackets for both vertical and horizontal hanging, and the flexible metal clips allow you to replace the contents repeatedly without weakening the frame.

Glass

Acrylic glass (plexiglass) — lightweight, shatterproof and as clear as real glass once the protective film has been removed.

Normal glass — classic clarity with natural colour reproduction and reflections.

Non-reflective glass — significantly reduces glare thanks to its slightly matte surface; ideal for bright rooms.

Museum glass — the most exclusive option: almost invisible, extremely clear and with strong UV protection to keep your artwork beautiful for many years.

Passepartout / Mat / Mount

If you want to use a mount, the frame must always be chosen in a larger format than the poster itself. Example: A 40×40 cm poster with an approx. 5 cm mount requires a 50×50 cm frame.

We offer passepartouts in several colours, but for formats larger than 70×100 cm they can only be produced in white.

Cutout

Measure your poster accurately and choose a cutout that is 1 cm smaller than the poster’s actual height and width. For example, a 66×88 cm poster requires a 65×87 cm cutout. This provides approx. 5 mm overlap on all sides and ensures both stability and easy mounting.

Outer dimensions

The outer dimensions of the mount always correspond to the glass size of the selected frame. Please note that the mount, glass and backing plate sit approx. 5 mm behind the front profile of the frame.

Cutout position

You can choose between three options:

Centered cutout (standard): Equal distance to top and bottom ensures a harmonious, balanced look.

Top-positioned cutout: Equal distance to the top and sides, giving a wider mount edge at the bottom.

Mount without cutout: The poster is placed directly on top of the cardboard — ideal if you want the full motif, signature or printing marks visible.

All mounts are produced from 1.5 mm acid-free, high-quality cardboard.

Return

You always have a 100-day return policy.

If you wish to return an item, simply contact us at info@plakatkunst.dk. A return label is included in the package, and the return shipping cost will be deducted from your refund.

If a frame arrives damaged, we will naturally send a replacement free of charge.
