About the frame

The matte dark red frame radiates exclusive calm and depth. The color lies between bordeaux and cherry – dark, saturated and full of warmth – and highlights both black-and-white artwork and colorful art prints with a luxurious look. The 15 mm slim profile and the 5 mm overlap of the front frame the artwork with precision and balance.

Made of solid ayous wood, which combines low weight with high strength. The back has metal fittings for hanging both vertically and horizontally, and the practical metal clips make it possible to change the contents repeatedly without damaging the frame.

Available in 37 standard sizes from 10×10 cm to 70×100 cm – and in custom sizes if you want a completely unique format.

Glass

The glass is crucial for both the protection and the experience of your artwork:

Acrylic glass (plexiglass) – light, shatter-resistant and with reflections, as with standard glass.

Standard glass – classic, sharp and with visible reflections that can give a lively light in the picture.

Non-reflective glass – reduces glare significantly with a faintly matte surface, ideal in rooms with strong lighting.

Museum glass – the most exclusive solution: almost invisible, completely non-reflective and with at least 70% UV protection, so your picture is preserved perfectly for many years.

Passepartout

If your artwork is to have a passepartout, choose the frame in a size that is larger than the artwork itself. A 30×40 cm poster with approx. 5 cm of passepartout all the way around fits, for example, in a 40×50 cm frame.

The passepartout can be chosen in several colors, so it suits both the artwork and the frame. For sizes over 81×110 cm, only white and off-white can be ordered.

Inner size

The inner size must be 1 cm below the size of the artwork. If you are framing a 40×40 cm poster with a passepartout, the cutout size should therefore be 39×39 cm. This way the board overlaps the artwork by approx. 5 mm on all sides, which makes the poster stable and easy to mount. If you would rather have a reveal edge, you can select it in our Frame Designer.

Outer size

The outer size of the passepartout is always identical to the size of the glass in the frame. Please note that the glass, backing board and passepartout extend approx. 5 mm in under the front edge of the frame.

Number of cutouts

You can have between 0 and 5 cutouts cut in the passepartout. If you want more, you are welcome to contact us. Zero cutouts is typically chosen when the work is to be placed on top of the board – an elegant way to show the entire edge, the signature or the print marks.

Position of the cutout

There are three positions to choose from:

Centered cutout (standard): Symmetrical placement with equal distance to the top and bottom.

Top-positioned cutout: The same distance to the top and sides, creating a little extra space at the bottom.

Free placement: You decide for yourself where the cutout should sit by entering the distance from the top and from the left side. Our preview continuously shows what the result will look like.
