About the frame

The matte dark red frame exudes depth, warmth and a refined calm. The tone lies between burgundy and cherry – rich, saturated and elegant – giving both black-and-white motifs and colourful art prints a luxurious, balanced expression. The slim 15 mm profile and the 5 mm front overlap frame the motif with precision without stealing attention.

The frame is made of solid ayous wood, which combines low weight with high strength. The back is fitted with metal brackets for both vertical and horizontal hanging, and the flexible metal clips make it possible to change the contents repeatedly without damaging the frame.

Available in 37 standard sizes from 10×10 cm to 70×100 cm – and also as a custom size if you want a completely specific format.

Glass

Acrylic glass (plexiglass) — lightweight, shatterproof and clear like regular glass once the protective film is removed, but with reflections.

Normal glass — classic and sharp with natural reflections.

Non-reflective glass — significantly reduces glare thanks to its slightly matte surface; ideal in spaces with strong light.

Museum glass — the most exclusive choice: almost invisible, completely non-reflective and with strong UV protection to preserve colours over time.

Passepartout / Mat / Mount

If you want to frame your poster with a mount, the frame must always be selected in a larger format than the poster itself. Example: A 40×40 cm poster with an approx. 5 cm mount requires a 50×50 cm frame.

We offer passepartouts in several colours. However, in formats larger than 70×100 cm, they can only be produced in white.

Cutout

Measure your poster carefully and choose a cutout that is 1 cm smaller than the poster’s actual size. For example, a poster measuring 66×88 cm requires a cutout of 65×87 cm. This provides approx. 5 mm overlap on all sides and ensures stable mounting.

Outer dimensions

The outer dimensions of the mount always match the glass size of the selected frame. Note that the mount, glass and backing plate sit approx. 5 mm behind the front profile of the frame.

Cutout position

You can choose between three options:

Centered cutout (default): Equal distance to top and bottom for a harmonious placement.

Top-positioned cutout: Same distance to top and sides, creating a wider mount edge at the bottom.

Mount without cutout: The poster is placed on top of the cardboard — ideal if you want the entire motif visible, including signature or borders.

All mounts are made from 1.5 mm acid-free, high-quality cardboard.

Payment is handled securely via Shopify Payments, and the amount is only charged when the order has been shipped. You will receive an order confirmation by email, and the invoice is available in your PlakatKunst account under the order.

Return

You always have a 100-day return policy.

If you wish to return an item, simply contact us at info@plakatkunst.dk. A return label is enclosed in the package, and the return shipping cost will be deducted from your refund.

If your frame is damaged upon delivery, we will of course send a replacement free of charge.
