About the frame

Light olive green wooden frame – fresh, calm and natural

The light olive green shade gives this frame a friendly and organic character. The color lies between green and beige – warm, yet subdued – and brings a touch of nature into the room. It is a perfect match for botanical artwork, black-and-white prints and minimalist posters alike. The frame's 15 mm slim profile overlaps the glass by 5 mm, which holds the contents securely in place without overshadowing the artwork.

The frame is made of solid ayous wood, a hard and light material that ensures both stability and an elegant lightness on the wall. The solid construction makes the model suitable for both small pictures and larger formats. The back is equipped with metal fittings for hanging both vertically and horizontally, and the flexible metal clips make it easy to replace the contents again and again – at least 20 times.

Glass

The glass matters a great deal for both look and protection:

Acrylic glass (plexiglass) – light, shatter-free and clear like standard glass once the protective film is removed. With glare.

Standard glass – a classic choice with sharp and natural rendering of colors, as well as glare.

Non-reflective glass – reduces glare with a subtle matte surface, ideal in rooms with a lot of light.

Museum glass – almost invisible, yet provides maximum UV protection and clarity, so your artwork is preserved perfectly over time. A beautiful non-reflective quality without the glass becoming the least bit matte. It is also called invisible glass.

Passepartout

If there is to be a passepartout between the artwork and the frame, the frame is chosen in a larger format than the artwork. With a border of approx. 5 cm, a 30×40 cm artwork fits in a 40×50 cm olive green matte wooden frame.

Passepartouts are available in several shades. If the frame is larger than 81×110 cm, however, the passepartout can only be supplied in white or off-white.

Inner size

The inner size should be 1 cm smaller than the size of your artwork. If you are framing a 40×40 cm poster with a passepartout, the cutout size should therefore be 39×39 cm. This way, the board overlaps the artwork by approx. 5 mm on all sides, which keeps the poster stable and makes it easy to mount. Outer size

On the outside, the passepartout always follows the dimensions of the glass in the frame. Please note that the glass, backing board and passepartout are hidden approx. 5 mm under the front edge of the frame all the way around.

Number of cutouts

The passepartout can be ordered with between 0 and 5 cutouts. If you need more, please do contact us. If you choose 0 cutouts, the artwork is placed on top of the board, so the entire edge, the signature or any print marks remain visible.

Position of the cutout

You have three options to choose from:

Centered cutout (standard): The cutout is placed symmetrically with the same border width at the top and bottom.

Top-positioned cutout: The cutout is moved up so that the distance to the top and sides is equal, and the bottom border becomes wider.

Free choice: The cutout is placed exactly as you wish. You specify the distance from the top and from the left side and can follow along in our preview as you go.

All our passepartouts are made of 1,5 mm acid-free board in high quality.
