About the frame

This glossy orange wooden frame brings life, warmth and character to the wall. The intense high-gloss surface makes posters and art prints stand out clearly, while the vibrant colour adds energy and personality to the room. The slim 13 mm profile gives a clean, modern expression, and the rounded corners create a soft, smooth transition between the motif and the wall.

The frame is made from solid ayous wood, which combines strength with low weight, making it both stable and easy to handle. The front profile overlaps the glass by 5 mm – enough to hold the motif and backing securely without covering more than necessary. On the back, metal brackets allow vertical or horizontal hanging, while flexible metal clips make it easy to change the motif.

The frame is available in 32 standard sizes from 10×10 cm to 50×70 cm, and it can also be made to custom measurements.

Glass

The glass plays a major role in both the appearance of the motif and its long-term protection. Prices vary depending on type and frame size: for small formats, acrylic glass and normal glass cost the same, while real glass in large frames is more expensive due to packaging and transport requirements.

Acrylic glass (plexiglass)
Lightweight, shatterproof and almost as clear as normal glass once the protective film is removed. Natural glare.

Normal glass
Classic, clear and sharp. Traditional reflections.

Non-reflective glass
Greatly reduces glare thanks to its slightly matte surface.

Museum glass
Perfect clarity, minimal glare and effective UV protection to keep colours vibrant for many years.

Passepartout / Mat / Mount

If you want a passepartout around your poster, the frame must always be chosen in a larger format than the motif itself. Example: a 40×40 cm poster with a passepartout width of approx. 5 cm requires a 50×50 cm frame.

We offer passepartouts in several colours, although in sizes over 70×100 cm they can only be produced in white.

Cutout

Measure your poster precisely and choose a cutout that is 1 cm smaller than the poster’s actual height and width. For instance, a 66×88 cm poster should use a 65×87 cm cutout. This gives approx. 5 mm overlap all the way around and ensures a stable, easy installation.

Outer dimensions

The outer dimensions of the passepartout always match the size of the glass in the frame. Note that the glass, backing plate and passepartout sit approximately 5 mm behind the front profile of the frame.

Cutout position

You can choose between three designs:

Centered cutout (standard): Equal distance to both top and bottom.

Top-positioned cutout: Same distance to the top and sides, creating extra width at the bottom.

Passepartout without cutout: The poster is placed on top of the cardboard — ideal when you want to show the full edge, signature or print marks.

All passepartouts are cut from high-quality 1.5 mm acid-free cardboard.

Returns

You have a 100-day return policy on all standard purchases.

If you wish to return an item, simply contact us at info@plakatkunst.dk. A return label is included in the package, and the return shipping cost will be deducted from your refund.

If a frame arrives damaged, we will of course send a replacement at no cost.
