About the frame

This glossy orange frame brings life, warmth and character to the wall. The intense high gloss makes both posters and art prints stand out more clearly, while the color adds energy and personality to the room. The slim 13 mm profile gives a clean and modern look, and the rounded corners ensure a soft transition between artwork and wall.

Made of ayous wood, which combines strength with low weight, so the frame feels both solid and easy to handle. The front overlaps the glass by 5 mm – just enough to hold the artwork and backing board in place without hiding too much of the picture. The back has small metal clips (flexible tabs) that make it easy to replace the artwork, and metal fittings so you can hang the frame both vertically and horizontally.

The frame is available in 32 standard sizes from 10×10 cm to 50×70 cm, but can also be made to measure.

Choose the right glass

The glass matters a great deal – both for how the artwork appears and for how it is protected over time. At the same time, the price varies depending on type and size: in small formats acrylic glass and standard glass cost the same, while real glass in larger frames is more expensive due to more demanding packaging and shipping.

Acrylic glass (plexiglass) – light, shatter-free and almost as clear as standard glass once the protective film is removed. With glare.

Standard glass – classic and clear, gives artwork a sharp look. With glare.

Non-reflective glass – reduces glare significantly with a slightly matte surface.

Museum glass – combines perfect clarity, low glare and effective UV protection, so the colors stay vivid for many years.

Passepartout

When you choose a passepartout, the size of the frame determines how much space there is around the artwork. The frame must therefore be larger than the artwork – a 30×30 cm poster with approx. 5 cm of passepartout requires, for example, an orange glossy wooden frame in 40×40 cm.

You can choose between several passepartout colors. In formats larger than 81×110 cm, however, they are made exclusively in white and off-white.

Inner size

The inner size should be 1 cm smaller than the size of your artwork. If you are framing a 30×40 cm poster with a passepartout, the cutout size should therefore be 29×39 cm. This way, the board overlaps the artwork by approx. 5 mm on all sides, which keeps the poster stable and makes it easy to mount. If you would prefer a reveal edge instead, you can select it in our Frame Designer.

Outer size

The outer size is adjusted automatically, as it is always the same as the dimensions of the glass. The glass, passepartout and backing board extend around 5 mm in under the front profile of the frame.

Number of cutouts

The passepartout is available with 0-5 cutouts as you choose. If you need more cutouts, please contact us. If you choose no cutouts, the piece is mounted on top of the board, which highlights the entire edge of the picture, the signature and print marks.

Position of the cutout

The cutout can be positioned in three ways:

Centered cutout (standard): The cutout sits in the middle of the passepartout with the same distance to the top and bottom.

Top-positioned cutout: The same distance to the top and sides, creating a little extra space at the bottom.

Free choice: You decide for yourself where the cutout should sit by specifying the distance from the top and from the left side. Our preview continuously shows what the result will look like.

We use 1,5 mm acid-free board in professional quality for all passepartouts.
