About the frame

This matte orange wooden frame brings warmth and energy into the room. It has a deep, subdued shade that creates an elegant contrast to both light and dark artwork. The slim 15 mm profile and the front's 5 mm overlap ensure that the artwork is highlighted without the frame taking the focus.

The frame is made of solid ayous wood – a strong and light material that makes it both stable and easy to handle. On the back you will find metal fittings for vertical and horizontal hanging, as well as flexible metal clips, so you can easily replace the contents many times.

Glass

Acrylic glass (plexiglass) – light, shatter-free and clear like standard glass, but with reflections when the light hits the surface.

Standard glass – classic, natural clarity with visible reflections that give a lively play in the artwork.

Non-reflective glass – reduces glare effectively with a faintly matte surface, perfect in rooms with strong light.

Museum glass – the most exclusive solution, almost invisible and with maximum UV protection, so your picture stays beautiful for many years.

Passepartout

If you choose to add a passepartout, the frame must be larger than your artwork. For a 30×30 cm poster with around 5 cm of passepartout you need, for example, a frame in 40×40 cm.

The passepartout can be chosen in several colors, so it matches both artwork and frame. In formats above 81×110 cm, only white and off-white can be ordered.

Cutout size

Measure the poster as accurately as possible, and specify a cutout size that is 1 cm smaller than the measurements. A 41×51 cm artwork should, for example, have a cutout size of 40×50 cm. This way the passepartout covers approx. 5 mm of the edge all the way around, and the poster lies stable. A reveal edge is also an option – you will find it in our Frame Designer.

Outer size

The outer size of the passepartout always corresponds to the dimensions of the glass, so you do not need to specify it yourself. Remember that the glass, passepartout and backing board lie approx. 5 mm in under the front of the frame.

Number of cutouts

Choose between 0-5 cutouts in the passepartout – and feel free to contact us if you want more. A passepartout without cutouts is typically used when an artwork is to be mounted on top of the board, e.g. to show the entire paper edge or the signature.

Position of the cutout

You can choose between three positions:

Centered cutout (standard): The cutout is centered so that the distance to the top and bottom is the same.

Top-positioned cutout: Equal distance to the top and sides, which gives a wider border at the bottom.

Free choice: The cutout is placed exactly as you wish. You specify the distance from the top and from the left side and can follow along in our preview as you go.

For an orange matte wooden frame, we cut the passepartout in 1,5 mm acid-free board of professional quality.
