About the frame

Intense without being garish. This matte dark red wooden frame brings warmth and personality to both modern graphic works and classic posters. It can serve as a bold, colourful statement or an elegant, understated accent — depending on the motif. The slim 15 mm profile and 5 mm front overlap keep the expression modern and clean while securing the poster firmly in place.

The frame is made of solid ayous wood, known for its strength, stability and low weight. The back features metal brackets so it can be hung both vertically and horizontally, and the flexible metal clips allow you to change the contents many times without wear on the frame.

Available in 37 standard sizes from 10×10 cm to 70×100 cm, and it can also be ordered in custom dimensions here.

Glass

Acrylic glass (plexiglass) — lightweight, shatterproof and similar in clarity to real glass once the protective film is removed, but with visible reflections.

Normal glass — clear and classic with natural reflections.

Non-reflective glass — reduces glare significantly with its slightly matte surface.

Museum glass — almost invisible, combining maximum clarity with UV protection.

Passepartout / Mat / Mount

If your poster needs a mount, the frame must always be chosen in a larger size than the poster itself. Example: A 40×40 cm poster with an approx. 5 cm mount requires a 50×50 cm frame.

We offer passepartouts in several colours, but for formats exceeding 70×100 cm they can only be produced in white.

Cutout

Measure your poster carefully and choose a cutout 1 cm smaller than the poster’s actual height and width. For example, a poster measuring 66×88 cm requires a cutout of 65×87 cm. This provides approx. 5 mm overlap on all sides, ensuring a stable and neat mounting.

Outer dimensions

The outer dimensions of the mount match the glass size of the selected frame. Please note that the glass, mount and backing plate sit approx. 5 mm behind the front profile of the frame.

Cutout position

You can choose between three options:

Centered cutout (standard): Equal distance to top and bottom for a balanced placement.

Top-positioned cutout: Equal distance to top and sides, creating a deeper mount edge at the bottom.

Mount without cutout: The poster is placed directly on top of the cardboard — ideal if the entire poster edge or a signature needs to remain visible.

All mounts are made from 1.5 mm, acid-free high-quality cardboard.

Return

You always have a 100-day return policy.

If you wish to return an item, simply contact us at info@plakatkunst.dk. A return label is included in the package, and the return shipping cost will be deducted from your refund.

If you receive a damaged frame, we will naturally send a replacement at no extra cost.
