Matte silver aluminum frame – modern lightness and discreet elegance

This matte silver frame is created for those who want a clean, minimalist look without unnecessary attention drawn to the frame itself. The cool silver color provides a sophisticated interplay around the motif, while the slim 9 mm front frames the image with precision. With a depth of 18 mm, the profile appears substantial enough to feel solid, yet remains light and contemporary. The 5 mm overlap of the front ensures that the glass and motif are held securely and protected.

The frame can be mounted both vertically and horizontally, and sizes up to 18×24 cm include a support stand, allowing it to stand freely on a bookcase, shelf, or desk.

Glass

The glass affects both the look and how well your motif holds up over time. Keep in mind that genuine glass typically costs more in larger formats, especially for metal frames, where shipping requires special packaging.

Acrylic glass (plexiglass) – the safest solution: ultra-light, shatterproof, and almost as clear as regular glass once the film is removed.

Regular glass – classic sharpness and clarity with a stylish, traditional look.

Anti-reflective glass – significantly reduces glare thanks to a slightly matte surface; ideal for rooms with plenty of daylight.

Museum glass – the premium choice. Almost invisible, with minimal reflection and effective reduction of UV rays, so colors and details are beautifully preserved through the years.

Mount (Passepartout)

When you want to use a mount with a matte silver aluminum frame, the frame must always be selected in a larger format than the poster itself. For example: A 40×40 cm poster combined with a mount width of approx. 5 cm requires a 50×50 cm frame.

We offer mounts in several colors, but in formats larger than 70×100 cm, they can only be produced in white.

Opening size

Measure the poster very precisely in both height and width. Then, select an opening size that is 1 cm smaller than the actual size of the motif. For instance, if your poster measures 66×88 cm, we recommend an opening size of 65×87 cm. This creates an overlap of approx. 5 mm all the way around, which keeps the motif stable and makes mounting simple — especially in a slim matte silver aluminum frame.

Outer dimensions

The outer dimensions of the mount always correspond to the glass size of the selected frame. Please be aware that the glass, backplate, and mount sit approx. 5 mm under the front edge of the frame.

Placement of the opening

You can choose between the following cut-outs:

Centered opening (standard): The cut-out is placed with equal distance to the top and bottom.

Top-placed opening: The distance from the opening to the top and sides is equal, while the bottom has a wider margin.

Mount without opening: The motif is placed on top of the cardboard — perfect if the entire poster, including edges or signatures, needs to be visible.

All mounts are made from 1.5 mm acid-free quality cardboard.

Payment is processed securely via Shopify Payments, and the amount is only charged when the order is shipped. You will receive an order confirmation by email, and the invoice can be found in your PlakatKunst account under the relevant order.

Shipping & returns

All frames — including the matte silver aluminum frame — are produced upon order at our Danish workshop. Most orders are shipped within a few business days, but during busy periods, production may take slightly longer.

GLS typically delivers by the next business day.

Frames larger than 70×100 cm cannot be shipped with GLS. They are delivered by DSV freight carrier directly to your address and usually arrive the following day in Jutland and Funen, and within two business days in the rest of the country.

Returns

You have a 100-day return policy on standard items.

Write to us at info@plakatkunst.dk if you wish to return an item. A return label is included in the package, and return shipping is deducted from the refund.

If you receive a frame that is damaged, we will naturally send a replacement immediately at no extra cost.
