About the frame

Elegant wooden picture frame with a subdued silver finish, where the dark metallic tone creates a cool and refined expression.

The frame profile measures 15 × 15 mm and overlaps the glass and backing board by approximately 5 mm. This ensures that the artwork is held securely in place without covering too much of the edges.

The frame is made from solid ayous wood, combining low weight with excellent strength and stability. The back is fitted with hangers for both portrait and landscape orientation, while the flexible metal clips make it quick and easy to change the artwork.

This silver frame is available in 37 standard sizes from 10 × 10 cm up to 70 × 100 cm. It can also be made to custom dimensions if you need a frame tailored precisely to your artwork.

Glass

Acrylic glass (plexiglass) – lightweight and shatterproof, but with visible reflections.

Regular glass – classic clear glass with natural colour reproduction and traditional reflections.

Non-reflective glass – significantly reduces glare and is especially suitable for bright interiors or rooms with large windows.

Museum glass – premium glass with an almost invisible surface and at least 70% UV protection.

The dark silver finish adds a discreet elegance and works beautifully with black-and-white prints, photography and modern art.

Passepartout / Mat / Mount

If you would like to frame your artwork with a passepartout, the frame must always be larger than the artwork itself. For example, a 40 × 40 cm print with a passepartout border of approximately 5 cm typically requires a 50 × 50 cm frame.

We offer several different passepartout colours and shades. However, for sizes above 70 × 100 cm, passepartouts are only produced in white.

Cutout

We recommend choosing a cutout that is 1 cm smaller than the actual dimensions of your artwork. For example, if your poster measures 66 × 88 cm, the recommended cutout is 65 × 87 cm. This creates an overlap of approximately 5 mm all the way around and keeps the artwork securely positioned behind the passepartout.

Outer dimensions

The outer dimensions of the passepartout always match the size of the glass and backing board. Please note that the front of the frame overlaps these elements by approximately 5 mm.

Cutout position

Centred cutout (standard): The opening is positioned with equal spacing on all sides.

Top-positioned cutout: The opening is moved upwards, creating a wider bottom border.

Passepartout without cutout: The artwork is mounted on top of the board instead of behind it.

All passepartouts are produced from 1.5 mm acid-free quality board suitable for posters, fine art prints and original artworks.

All payments are processed securely through Shopify Payments. Your payment will only be charged once the order has been dispatched from our workshop. You will automatically receive both an order confirmation and invoice by e-mail.

Shipping & returns

All frames are made to order in our Danish workshop. Most orders are dispatched within a few working days.

Returns

You have a 100-day return policy. If you wish to return an item, simply contact us at info@plakatkunst.dk. A return label is included in the parcel, and the return shipping cost will be deducted from the refund.

If your order arrives damaged, we will of course send a replacement at no additional cost.
