About the frame

Elegant wooden picture frame with a subdued silver finish, where the dark metallic tone gives a cool and clean look.

The frame molding measures 15×15 mm and has an overlap of approx. 5 mm in front of the glass and backing board. This ensures that the artwork is held firmly in place without hiding unnecessarily much of the edge.

The frame is made of solid ayous wood, which combines low weight with high strength and good dimensional stability. On the back you will find hangers for both portrait and landscape mounting as well as sturdy metal clips that make it quick and easy to replace the contents.

This silver frame can be chosen in 37 fixed sizes from 10×10 cm to 70×100 cm. If you need other dimensions, it can also be produced in custom sizes, so that the frame fits your work exactly.

Glass

Acrylic glass (plexiglass) – a lightweight and shatter-resistant solution with distinct reflections.

Standard glass – classic clear glass with a natural look and traditional reflections.

Non-reflective glass – reduces glare significantly and works particularly well in bright rooms or close to windows.

Museum glass – exclusive glass with an almost invisible surface and a minimum of 70% UV protection.

The dark silver color adds a discreet elegance to the artwork and goes especially well with black-and-white motifs, photography and modern art alike.

Passepartout

If you want to frame with a passepartout, the frame must always be ordered larger than the artwork. An example: A 20×30 cm artwork with a passepartout border of around 5 cm requires a silver wooden frame in 30×40 cm.

Our passepartouts are available in a range of color shades. Above 81×110 cm, however, the choice is limited to white and off-white.

Inner size

Start by measuring the artwork accurately. Then choose a cutout size that is 1 cm smaller than the poster – for a 66×88 cm artwork, this corresponds to a cutout size of 65×87 cm. With approx. 5 mm of overlap all the way around, the poster is held neatly and firmly in place. If you prefer a reveal edge, it can be chosen in our Frame Designer.

Outer size

The passepartout is cut on the outside to exactly the same dimensions as the glass in the frame. Please note that the front edge of the frame covers approx. 5 mm of the glass, backing board and passepartout along the edge.

Number of cutouts

From 0 to 5 cutouts can be cut in the passepartout, and if you would like even more, we are happy to help if you contact us. Zero cutouts is an obvious choice when the work is to lie on top of the board, so that the edge, signature and print marks stand out.

Position of the cutout

Choose between three types of placement:

Centered cutout (standard): The same distance to the top and bottom – the classic solution.

Top-positioned cutout: An equal border at the top and on the sides, while the bottom gets a wider border – a classic gallery solution.

Free placement: The cutout is placed exactly according to your wishes. You enter the distance from the top and from the left side and can follow along in our preview as you go.

All passepartouts are cut from 1,5 mm acid-free quality board.
