About the frame
This black wooden frame is created for those who prefer a completely clean and uniform look. The matte varnishing provides a smooth, even surface, where the wood structure is completely hidden, giving a tight, graphic and modern look. The profile has an external depth of 30 mm and a 20 mm wide front, overlapping the glass and back plate by 5 mm. This provides a solid frame without hiding more of the motif than necessary.
All of our standard dimensions can be selected directly above, and the sizes always refer to the dimensions of the glass and backing plate — i.e. the exact poster size you want to frame.
If you want to use a passepartout, the frame must be larger than the poster itself. For example: if you choose a 60×80 cm frame and purchase a passepartout for 50×70 cm, you will get a border of approximately 5 cm all the way around. Passepartout can be purchased for all frames.
Glass selection
The glass affects both how the motif is presented and how well it is preserved over time. Here are the four types of glass that the frame can be supplied with:
Acrylic glass (plexiglass)
The best solution if you want something lightweight and shatterproof. Acrylic glass is ideal for homes with children or large formats where weight matters. The clarity is close to regular glass, but with the characteristic reflections when the light hits it.
Normal glass
The classic choice. Provides natural, sharp color reproduction and the visible reflections that many associate with traditional framing. A good choice in rooms with subdued lighting.
Non-reflective glass
With its discreet matte surface, anti-reflective glass significantly reduces glare, making the subject easier to see in rooms with large windows, direct lights or strong daylight.
Museum glass
Top quality. Museum glass is almost completely invisible, has minimal reflection and provides around 70% UV protection, so the colors stay vibrant for many years. Together with the UV filters found in modern windows, museum glass provides excellent total protection. The experience is similar to seeing the picture without glass — only with much better preservation.
Choose the type of glass that best suits both the motif and the surroundings — the choice of glass means more to the overall impression than you might think.
