About the frame

This gold-colored wooden frame exudes warmth and classic elegance. The surface has a subtly cracked structure that gives it a beautiful antique feel — like a piece you might be lucky enough to discover in an old art shop or flea market in the south. The soft glow of the gold finish makes the frame suitable for both modern graphic works and art prints where you want a touch of tradition and character.

The frame profile measures 16 mm in both width and depth, and the front overlaps the glass and backing board by 5 mm, ensuring the motif is held securely and elegantly. On the back, the frame is fitted with hangers for both horizontal and vertical display, and in smaller formats up to 18×24 cm a support foot is included, allowing the frame to stand freely on a shelf, sideboard or windowsill.

All frame sizes correspond to the dimensions of the glass and backing board — exactly matching the size of the poster.

Glass

The choice of glass affects both the atmosphere and the visual experience of the motif. You can choose between the following four options:

Acrylic glass (plexiglass)
A lightweight and shatterproof solution, especially suitable for homes with children or areas where the frame may be exposed to impact. The clarity is comparable to standard glass, but with increased durability.

Standard glass
The classic choice that gives the motif a natural and familiar reflection. A timeless standard glass with clear reflections.

Anti-reflective glass
The matte surface minimizes glare and makes the motif easy to view from multiple angles. In strong light, the image may appear slightly softer — but the viewing comfort is significantly improved.

Museum glass
The most exclusive option. Almost invisible glass with minimal reflection and approximately 70% UV protection. Combined with modern window UV filters, it helps preserve colours over time and creates the impression that there is almost no glass in front of the artwork.

Passepartout

If you use a passepartout, the frame should always be selected in a larger format than the poster itself. For example, a 50×50 cm poster requires a 60×60 cm frame to achieve an even passepartout width of approximately 5.5 cm, including overlap.

Cutout size
Measure your poster carefully and choose a cutout that is 1 cm smaller than the height and width of the motif. A poster measuring 66×88 cm therefore requires a cutout of 65×87 cm. This provides an overlap of approximately 5 mm on all sides, ensuring a stable and professional presentation.

Exterior dimensions
The outer dimensions of the passepartout always follow the size of the glass in the frame. Glass, backing board and passepartout sit approximately 5 mm behind the front edge of the frame.

Cutout position

Centered (default): Equal distance to top and bottom.

Top-positioned: Equal distance to top and sides, creating a wider edge at the bottom.

Without cutout: The motif — including edges and signatures — is placed on top of the cardboard.

All passepartouts are made from 1.5 mm acid-free quality cardboard.

Return
You have a 100-day right of return on standard items. If you wish to return an order, simply contact info@plakatkunst.dk. A return label is included in the package, and the return shipping cost will be deducted from the refund.

If a frame arrives damaged, we will of course send a replacement free of charge.
